Purchased this product because it is pretty. It has vague cleaning directions and the tank can not be opened. Over time, though i used purified water from our whole house purifier and cleaned the unit completely every week, the unit became more and more moldy and full of mildew in many of the base parts (all plastic) that hold water all the time. the tank began to get a water mildew film on it but no brush can reach the inside of tank. And then we finally looked inside the tower top- OH NO! It was full of mildew. This is the part that the misted water comes out of continually and we had been putting that into our air for months. The tower top has a circular hold to fit on tank and then the hole becomes a small slit and bends sharply. There is NO tool or towel that could ever get in there. I ran water through the tower in tub holding it upside down and mildew came out in chunks. It was horrible. I even tried spraying mildew bleach cleaner in the tower but the spray does not even close to come to going all through the tower hole and there is no way to see what is up in there. It is GROSS

I live in a super dry, mountain environment. I bought one of these W9 tower humidifiers January 2022 and love it. As smaller, Homedics humidifiers fail in my house, I'm replacing them with the Objecto W9 tower. This tower is aesthetically pleasing, the water jug is easy to fill, and the power buttons are easy to use. One critique: the first W9 tower I purchased is quieter than the one I recently bought in Jan 2024. I choose not to run the 2024 unit at night in the bedroom. I use tiny, Homedics filters in the tank to keep the white dust from forming. As an aside: I also purchased a W7 humidifier in Jan 2022. By way of comparison, the W7 has a smaller tank that is super fiddly to try to get back in the unit, and the ""on"" button is much more difficult to push. #sweepstakes
