This air purifier is the next-generation BioGS model from Rabbit Air. It features a new streamlined design for improved airflow, a simplified control panel with smart indicator lights, and eco-friendly features to help save energy and lessen its impact on the environment. With a 4-stage HEPA filtration system, an onboard air quality sensor, and 5 purification speeds, the Rabbit Air SPA-550A purifies medium to large spaces up to 550 square feet.
4-Stage Air Filtration
Your allergies, asthma, and odor sensitivities are no match for the Rabbit Air BioGS 2.0 SPA-550A Air Purifier. This air cleaner features a robust 4-stage filtration system to give you the cleanest air possible and the assurance that it will stay clean hour after hour. The filtration system includes:
- Step 1: Large Particle Pre-Filter - Air first passes through a large particle pre-filter, which traps and reduces large allergens and dust particles. This filter is permanent and washable to help you save money on filter replacements.
- Step 2: Charcoal-Based Activated Carbon Filter - Next, air glides through a charcoal-based activated carbon filter where chemicals and common household odors are absorbed and locked away.
- Step 3: BioGS HEPA Filter - Air is virtually scrubbed clean as it enters the BioGS HEPA filter. This filter traps 99.97% of allergen particles as small as 0.3 microns. It has also been proven to reduce the growth of bacteria and viruses on the filter and help alleviate common household odors.
- Step 4: Negative Ion Generator - As the last step, a negative ion generator produces millions of healthy negative ions that freshen your indoor air and make it easier for the filters to capture large particles.
During operation, air is drawn into the air purifier from the bottom and each side of the unit. Clean filtered air is then expelled out through the top of the air purifier. When running on its highest speed, the Rabbit Air SPA-550A filters all of the air in a 550 square-foot space twice in one hour.

When creating the BioGS 2.0 air purifiers, Rabbit Air engineers aimed to improve on their eco-friendliness overall. The SPA-550A includes a number of features designed to lower the unit's impact on the environment throughout its operating life and beyond. This air purifier meets Energy Star qualifications, which means it's built with more efficient components and uses less energy to operate than comparable models. A programmable timer helps you conserve energy use further by programming operation 4, 8, or 12 hours in advance. Plus, electronic lights on the control panel dim and disappear when the unit is idle to reduce light disturbance and power consumption.

If you have any allergies or respiratory concerns - and who doesn't in the city - this is a good way to clear your air space. It's quiet, easy to set up, auto function means you can set it and leave it. Nice design. I thought I'd try it and could return it but see no reason to let this thing go!
