Info & Guides

Description

The Santa Fe Impact155 dehumidifier is the perfect solution for removing excess moisture from large basements and crawl spaces. At AHAM rating conditions (80°F at 60% humidity), the large-capacity unit removes up to 155 pints of moisture per day and covers up to 4,000 square feet.

At complete saturation (100% relative humidity), the dehumidifier’s capacity doubles to an impressive 310 pints per day.

Top Features

  • Dual-Air Distribution: This patent-pending capability enables the unit to blow dehumidified air out from vents located on both sides of the unit, which results in more balanced humidity and air circulation.
  • Horizontal Design: The Impact155 has a horizontal design that's ideal for compact crawl spaces and basement applications.
  • Reliable Heavy-Duty Moisture Removal: Made in Madison, WI, this dehumidifier is backed with a 6-year warranty and designed for years of use in tough environments.
  • Money-Saving Design: Remove up to 7.3 pints of moisture per kWh. This powerhouse dehumidifier offers a 3.4 L/kWh Energy Factor.

Easy Humidity Control

For easy humidity control, the unit features 3 humidity settings – dry, normal, and humid – to help you choose the best level for your space. Simply move the humidity control knob to your desired setting. The dehumidifier will run intermittently to maintain the set humidity level.

Upgraded 6-Year Warranty

Manufacturers have announced that Santa Fe dehumidifiers now have an upgraded warranty that guarantees performance and customer satisfaction for up to six years.

This industry-leading “Peace of Mind” warranty covers all Santa Fe dehumidifiers manufactured after January 1, 2024, with a 5-year warranty against operational failures and a 6-year warranty for faulty components.

In the unlikely event of a unit breakdown, Santa Fe will either replace or repair the affected unit. However, customers should consult their Owner’s Manual for detailed information about their warranty’s terms and conditions.

Designed To Fit Your Needs

This crawl space and basement dehumidifier features a horizontal design that helps it fit easily into narrow and tight spaces. Place the unit in a finished basement, an unfinished basement, or on open ground in your crawl space. Because of its shorter footprint, the dehumidifier can be installed wherever it is convenient.

Ducting Options

There are several options for ducting this Santa Fe dehumidifier for operation in a number of spaces at once. This also allows you to hide the unit in a storage space. Inlet (12-inch. ducting) and outlet (10-inch ducting) duct accessory kits are available to suit your needs. Setup configurations include:

  • Operating the unit without ducting to dehumidify in an open space.
  • Ducting multiple rooms to allow air to flow simultaneously.
  • Ducting one room and directing the unit to discharge air into another room.
  • Running ductwork to the far ends of a crawl space to force air circulation.
  • You can add the ducting kit if you're looking to duct your model.

Condensate Pump Option

If the gravity drain option is not aligned with your drainage needs, a condensate pump is also available. This kit will give you the option of running the drain hose upward and out through a window or around a doorway to your yard or garden. The condensate pump is energy-efficient and works with a float switch that directs the pump to run only when necessary.

Additional Features

This American-made dehumidifier stands above other dehumidifiers when it comes to the amount of moisture it can absorb from the air. In addition to its high-capacity and low temperature operation, special features include:

  • Fan Control: A fan control switch allows for continuous fan operation or operation only when the unit is actively removing moisture from the air.
  • MERV 13 Air Filter: A pleated MERV 13 air filter cleans the air as it enters the unit. This filter captures particles as small as 1 micron in size and helps the dehumidifier works more efficiently. To replace MERV 13 filters, you can find them here. For slightly less efficient air filtration, you can add the MERV 11 filter
  • Gravity Drainage: Simply attach the included 8-foot drain hose to the unit and route to a drain.
  • Wide Temperature Range: This crawl space dehumidifier operates efficiently in temperatures down to 49 degrees F and up to 95 degrees F.
  • Auto Restart: It automatically starts back at your previous settings after a power outage.

How It Works

The Santa Fe Impact155 dehumidifier uses a CFC-free refrigerant to draw in a stream of warm, humid air at the front of the unit and pass it through 1 of 2 evaporator coils. At this coil, the air temperature is cooled to below its dew point, condensing moisture in the process and dripping the water into the unit’s reservoir or, if equipped, a hose for draining.

Following this process, the now cooled and dried air passes through a second coil where it is reheated and blown out into the room or crawl space. This Santa Fe dehumidifier performs dual-air distribution by blowing the reheated air out into the surrounding space from each side of the unit, which results in quicker and more efficient dehumidification and a well-balanced humidity level.

Setting Up A Drain Trap

Santa Fe recommends setting up a drain trap when installing any of its horizontal dehumidifiers, including this model (formerly known as the Max Dry Dual XT). This prevents air from moving back up through the hose and backflowing water into the machine.

This also prevents potential water leaks from the corners of each unit. It's easy to create a drain trap using the included drain hose or a separate PVC trap. Watch this video on how to create a drain trap for your Santa Fe dehumidifier to learn more.

Reviews Summary
Customers say this dehumidifier effectively reduces moisture in large spaces like basements and crawl spaces. Many reviews mention rapid humidity reduction, with spaces drying out within days. Common feedback includes quiet operation for its size, though some note it requires precise leveling. While most praise its powerful performance, some report reliability concerns after seasonal storage. Reviews indicate it handles areas up to 3600 square feet, with users noting significant humidity drops from high levels to 50% or lower. The unit's size requires careful installation planning.

I am very happy to have this bear in my basement!

I use the Impact155 to dehumidify a large basement, which is 2500 square feet plus 1000 square feet of crawl spaces. This unit is a bear. It can pull the humidity down quickly, a couple of percentage points per hour. I think the 155 pint per day rating is accurate. I have owned 3 Santa Fe models and this one is by far the strongest. The others (an Advance 120 and a Classic) had much longer daily run times to pull down the humidity in the basement (my target is 50 to 52%). I have the unit sitting on the Santa Fe risers and I am using a 3/4"" P-trap and PVC pipe to gravity feed the effluent to a floor drain.

Beware: Unit will only last one season.

I purchased the dehumidifier 3 years ago and use it from May to September. The unit works well for one season and then leaks refrigerant during off season. Manufacturer replaced twice, although last time they warned that they would not replace again. These units are expensive and UNRELIABLE. I also have an Aprilaire whole house dehumidifier that IS reliable and I will be purchasing another to replace this Ultra junk with. Expensive lesson learned.

#sweepstakes Worth going with the best.

Purchased to control unhealthily high humidity in basement. Success achieved and bonus ""Impact"" on 1st and 2nd floors. Humidity dropped throughout the house. #sweepstakes
