Available with or without heat, the Whynter Elite Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner is ideal for hot spots in your home, office, server room or other areas up to 400 square feet requiring a compact cooling solution. This portable AC’s sleek design and easily mobility belies its powerful output and swift cooling rate. A fully-programmable thermostat and automatic timer puts climate control in the palm of your hand. Also equipped with a dehumidification mode, the ARC-122 can extract up to 76 pints of excess moisture during a single 24-hour period leaving you with cool, comfortable air.
Select the Heat Pump Option
Place 10,000 BTUs of heating power at your fingertips by selecting the Elite ARC-122DHP model. Fully programmable, you can control all settings with ease using the easy-touch control panel or the included remote control. While fully self-evaporative, the ARC-122DHP also comes equipped with an internal condensate AutoPump which can be activated to pump out excess condensate that may accumulate in high humidity conditions.
Efficient Dual-Hose Operation
Featuring dual-hose operation, the ARC-122DS provides for greater air intake and constant air pressure which enables its 12,000 BTUs (ASHRAE)/7,500 BTUs (DOE Standard) of power to cool at a faster rate than comparable single hose systems. The Elite comes equipped with a 24-hour programmable timer, allowing you to save energy by setting your unit to cycle on and off automatically. You can even program it to cool your space before you arrive or set it to turn off after you leave. This superior AC’s compact design, portability, and myriad programmable features make it the perfect companion in almost any indoor location including data closets, server rooms, bedrooms, classrooms, and garages or shops.

I was skeptical since I had had a portable air conditioner before that only felt cool if you stood right in front of it. I'm pleased to report that the Whynter Elite 12000 BTU Dual Hose works really well, actually cooling my living room, with its high ceiling. The only thing I would correct is the sliding window panel, which doesn't fit so well and took some adjusting and foam insulation to fix. The dual hoses are not attractive (!), but they make a huge difference in the functioning of the unit.

Thoroughly satisfied with this impressive product. Following YouTube suggestions, I adapted this for use in a casement window. This unit was purchased with the intention of reducing overall home energy costs, while giving me the option of temperature comfort in the most used room(s). While used primarily in an upstairs office that is ineffectively cooled by central AC, the portability also allows use in a bedroom when I don't want to cool the whole house. With a large house, I also wanted the heat pump feature, because I often want to selectively warm just the office. The unit is easily movable, quiet and efficient, even on very hot, humid days, when I disconnect the intake hose. The installation instructions were suboptimal, including an error about one hose connection turn direction and no instruction on how to detach the connector from the window adapter, about which I had to call.
