The Healthmate Plus Jr is available in Black, White, Sandstone, or Midnight Blue.
4-Stage Filtration
The Healthmate Plus Jr has a four-stage combination filter and uses a 360-degree intake system. It pulls air from all sides through it for maximum filtration.
- Large Particle Pre-Filter: This initial stage removes the largest particles easily seen by the naked eye, like hair, dust, and pet dander.
- Medium Particle Pre-Filter: This slightly finer second-layer filter removes small to medium-sized particles like pollen, molds, and spores.
- Carbon Blend Filter: This unique third layer combines nearly six pounds of activated carbon, zeolite, and potassium iodide to remove gases, chemicals, and odors.
- Genuine HEPA Filter: The fourth and final stage is a True medical-grade HEPA filter that captures up to 99.97 percent of all particles larger than 0.3 microns and up to 99 percent of all airborne contaminates as small as 0.1 microns, including viruses, bacteria, dander, dust, and allergens.

After running purifier for about an hour, when using it for the first time to remove the VOCs coming from it, I have been satisfied with the improved air quality in an approximately 200 sq ft space. Drawbacks: It's loud on high speed and low speed has a vibration. Also, it is manually adjusted-no automatic response to change in air quality.

Although this unit is not inexpensive, and lacks a lot of the bells and whistles found on others in its price class, it's a quality piece of equipment. It's quite nice to look at, is as sturdy as an ox, and is exceedingly simple to use: turn it on, and it purifies the air. And very well at that. The only potential negative is that, at the highest of three speeds, you can hear it very clearly. A simple solution is to avoid using that speed when people are nearby; the lower two are perfectly reasonable. We just crank it up at night (it's downstairs, not where we sleep), and it does an impeccable job. I also love the fact that it's so contained, needing filter changing every few years.
