This combination filter—HEPA filter, pre-filter, and carbon / zeolite mixture—is for use with the Austin Air Healthmate Plus Jr. air purifier.
- A pre-filter outside the HEPA filter protects the filter and extends the life of the main filter
- Constructed of 30 sq ft of true HEPA medical-grade material
- Contains approximately 6.5 lbs of solid activated carbon and zeolite, which absorbs numerous gases/odors
Plus Models – These filters contain potassium iodide for absorbing formaldehyde, ammonia, and other VOCs.

I have had my units for many years now and simply replace the hepa filters when it is time. They are apparently indestructible.

The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Replacement Filter is the same filter that arrives with the original unit when ordered. It is not a second rate filter but simply the same filter being replaced. This filter works as described and is very efficient. We use it in a unit in a bedroom and very happy with the level of filtration and effectiveness. I would buy (and have bought) again. As Austin claims, there can be a long gap of time between replacement of the filter so don't forget to vacuum the pre-filter regularly to keep the filter functioning at its best or replace the pre-filter from time to time. I would give the product 4.5 stars if it allowed me as the price of the filter is a bit on the high side (though it lasts for years) as we like to change the filter out every more often than recommended given our environmental challenges. I would buy this item again (and again). It simply does its job and does it well.

It is a solid, sturdy, and heavy filter. I understand why it costs a lot, though I do suspect this is a heavily inflated price ($294.99 subtotal at time of purchase- 3/6/24, not including the $14.75 discount). Works great to protect air quality.
