Portable Air Conditioners

Portable Air Conditioners typically have lower upfront costs, which can increase based on the coverage area of the AC, but they usually don’t require any additional upfront costs. Since they are made for easy residential use, the setup consists of venting the AC to a window with the included window exhaust kit for ventilation and plugging the unit into a power source. Most portable air conditioners include a window kit for a sliding or double-hung window, but it is important to double-check that the included kit will fit the window in your space.

The only additional cost that may occur is the purchase of specialized window exhaust kits for installation into less common window types, like crank-out, casement, awning, and hopper windows, if the portable AC is not designed for those specific window types. Other accessories may also be needed for more commercialized spaces, including specialized intake and exhaust hoses and adapters.
