Info & Guides

Description

In a tent or a multi-tier rack, ceiling height is often the real limit, and the HLG Scorpion Diablo Full Spectrum Commercial Indoor LED Grow Light is built around that problem. Its light stays evenly balanced even at 12 inches from the canopy. That lets you stack tiers closer together and fit more production into the same room.

In a tight space, heat matters as much as spacing. The Scorpion Diablo is passively cooled and runs at an average of 77 degrees F, a low operating temperature for a crowded grow area.

Key Features and Benefits of the HLG Scorpion Diablo Full Spectrum Commercial Indoor LED Grow Light

  • Quantum Board Array: 6 QB648 Diablo Quantum Boards produce a total output of 1900 PPF, enough to bring a 5 x 5 foot flowering area through bloom.
  • High Efficacy: A system efficacy of 2.9 micromoles per joule turns more of each watt into usable light, which helps keep your electric bills in check.
  • Low Hanging Height: The recommended flowering height is 12 to 18 inches, so you can run the light close to the canopy on racks and under short ceilings.
  • Vegetative Coverage: Raised to 24 to 30 inches, the fixture covers a 6 x 6 foot vegetative footprint, so the same light can take you from veg to flower.
  • Deep Red Diodes: The full spectrum includes 660-nanometer red LEDs to support heavier, more productive flowering during the bloom stage.
  • Samsung LEDs: High-efficiency Samsung diodes push light deeper into the canopy, so your lower branches get enough light for fuller undergrowth.
  • Auto-Sensing Driver: The Inventronics power supply detects and runs on 120V, 240V, or 277V, so you can match the fixture to your facility's wiring.
  • Dual Power Cords: Power cords for both 120V and 240V come included, so you can switch supply voltage without sourcing a new cord.
  • Manual Dimming Knob: The dimmable power supply has a built-in manual knob and an RJ12 0-10V jack, so you can dial intensity down for seedlings or up for flowering.
  • ETL Listed: ETL certification means the fixture has been tested to recognized electrical safety standards for commercial and home grow spaces.

Fitting the Scorpion Diablo Into Your Rack or Room

The fixture measures 38.5 x 35 x 2.75-Inches (L x W x H), so each rack shelf needs a little over 3 feet of clearance in both directions. At 31.05 pounds, it needs hanging hardware and shelf supports rated for that load. The thin 2.75-inch profile is what makes the low-hanging heights practical, because the light takes very little vertical space away from your plants.

The 8-foot power cord ends in a standard 5-15P plug that fits 110 to 120 volt outlets. Maximum draw is 5.83 amps, which helps you work out how many fixtures each circuit can carry before you add lights to a tier.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're running a multi-tier rack or a room with limited headroom, the Scorpion Diablo's main strength is uniform light at just 12 inches. That low-hanging height is the best reason to choose it over a taller-hanging fixture. Its 2.9 efficacy also matters once you run several lights per tier, because power costs add up fast at that scale. For stacked flowering tiers where every inch counts, this fixture earns its shelf space.
