Description
The Vornado Evap40 4-gallon Evaporative Humidifier delivers a perfectly humidified environment for people to breathe easier and avoid the negative effects of dry air. Efficient blades pull in large volumes of air, then the air is filtered and moisturized air is released through your entire room. The whole-room humidification system works in rooms up to 1,000 square feet. The 4-gallon capacity makes it only necessary to refill the reservoir every 24 hours.
Distributes Moisture Evenly
Humidified air is circulated evenly throughout your room using Vornado's Vortex Action technology. Other humidifiers simply inject moisture into the surrounding area and fail to completely humidify an entire room. The Vornado Evap40 uses its fan technology to disperse air evenly across your entire space.
Customized, Simple Humidifying
The Evap40 is designed for simple humidity control:
- Three Fan Speeds: Select low, medium, or high fan speed. Choose high for fast humidification or in large rooms, and turn on low for quiet operation or in small rooms.
- Adjustable Humidity: Set the knob between minimum and maximum humidification level. Once your desired humidity level is reached, it turns off automatically.
- Four Gallon Capacity: Two extra-large capacity water tanks allow for up to 24 hours of continuous humidifying. Both tanks are removable and easy to refill.
- Five Year Limited Warranty: A long warranty shows the quality of parts and trusted design.

We live in a 1800 sq ft home. Have placed in the main living area, and near cold air returns. The moist air seems to be taken into the cold air system, and distributed into the other parts of home. Unit is quiet, well made, and efficient.

I use this humidifier in our large high ceiling great room. It holds alot of water and it keeps the room at about 35% humidity using the highest setting. My hygrometer has not reached 40% humidity yet. I run it 24/7 and just fill the jugs when they get down to 1"" of water left. They do not empty at the same time. One side empties then I spin the machine around ( it sits on a towel) and then the other side empties. I have tried to level the humidifier but have not been successful in getting each side to empty equally. Oh well. It is a very simple design, using 2 wick pads, one on the front and one on the back. They have lasted about 1 month and are now getting stiff from our hard well water. Replacements are expensive. $15 to $30 for a box of 2 replacements which is ridiculous. The humidifier does not send a mist or vapor into the air like my old humidifier did back in the day. It is just a fan that draws air through the damp wicks, which sends cool humidified air into the room. Temps out side are ranging from 50(F) degrees down to 20(F) degrees. We have gas heat which is pretty dry, and we live on the east coast, mid atlantic region. My hygrometer has not reached 40% humidity yet. Dont expect too much and you may be somewhat happy with this thing. Mine does not leek, Yaaahh. Bonus.

This is a great product! It has helped immensely with problems related to living in a very dry climate. I use it in my small bedroom in my apartment. When both tanks are full, they last a couple of days even when operating on high. The unit itself runs very quietly, the only noise is the occasional bubbling of water as the tray refills. It's nice that it is a cool mist also, will be great for year-round use!
