Description
Description
When the far end of a long duct run gets weak airflow, an inline fan is often the fix. The Ruck Air Movement Classic Series 6-inch inline centrifugal fan sits inside the duct line and pushes air to the room you need it in. It comes in Classic and Classic HO configurations, so you can match the fan's output to the size of your space.
Key Features and Benefits of the Ruck Air Movement 6-In. Classic Series Inline Centrifugal Duct Fan
- Backward-Curved Impeller: The backward-curved impeller blades stay efficient in compact spaces, so you get strong airflow without fitting a bigger fan than the job needs.
- Duct Fit: The 6-inch duct diameter connects straight to matching ducting, so you can place the fan at any point along your run.
- Variable-Speed Control: Manual variable-speed control lets you turn airflow up or down as conditions change, instead of running the fan at full output all day.
- Plug-In Power: A 5.5-foot power cord plugs into an outlet rated for 110-120 volts, so you can set up the fan without hardwiring it.
- Single-Phase Motor: The single-phase AC motor runs on standard household power, so it works with the electrical service you already have.
- Wide Temperature Range: The fan is rated to run in temperatures from -13 to 176 degrees F, so it can handle very cold air as well as hot air.
- UL and CSA: The fan has UL and CSA certifications, which confirm it meets recognized safety standards for your installation.
- German Construction: The fan is made in Germany, with a white powder-coated metal casing and built-in mounting brackets that make it easier to install.
Classic vs. Classic HO: Choose Your Airflow
The Classic Series 6-inch fan comes in Classic and Classic HO models, and they differ in airflow, power draw, noise, and size.
- Classic: The Classic moves up to 263 CFM on 0.7 amps, which suits smaller rooms and shorter duct runs. It carries an IPX4 rating for protection against splashing water. At 21 sones it is the quieter of the 2 models, and at 12.6 x 10.63 x 8.27-Inches (L x W x H) and 7.03 pounds it fits into tighter mechanical spaces.
- Classic HO: The high-output Classic HO moves up to 381 CFM, about 45 percent more airflow than the Classic, and draws 1.2 amps. It is rated at 35 sones and measures 15.75 x 13.78 x 9.84-Inches (L x W x H) at 9.75 pounds, so you will need a little more room to mount it.
Sylvane's Expert Take
If you're boosting airflow through a single 6-inch duct into a smaller room, start with the Classic, which is the quieter option and has a splash rating. Go with the Classic HO if your duct run is longer or has more resistance and the far end needs extra airflow. On either model, variable-speed control is the feature that matters most, since you can dial the output to the job. With the plug-in cord, you can have either fan running the same day you mount it.
