Info & Guides

Description

Damp crawl spaces and unheated outbuildings rarely give you much headroom or steady temperatures. The PURAERO 85/145 Pints Compact Commercial LGR Dehumidifier (model PA-45-LGR) is sized to slip into those tight spots. Its low grain refrigerant (LGR) design keeps pulling moisture through the cold stretches that unheated spaces go through.

The PA-45-LGR is recommended for water damage restoration and is built to run without much oversight from you. An internal condensate pump pushes collected water out through the included drain line, and automatic defrost clears ice from the coil on its own. Auto-restart turns the dehumidifier back on after a power interruption, so a brief outage won't end your drying job.

Key Features and Benefits of the PURAERO 85/145 Pints Compact Commercial LGR Dehumidifier

  • Moisture Removal: Pulls 85 pints daily at AHAM conditions and up to 145 pints at saturation, so you can dry soaked spaces faster.
  • Low-Temperature Operation: LGR refrigeration with R-410A refrigerant runs in ambient temperatures from 33 to 105 degrees F, so you can keep drying unheated crawl spaces through cold weather.
  • Internal Condensate Pump: A built-in pump and the included 25-foot drain line move water out of the space, so you never haul a full bucket.
  • Pump Purge Cycle: The pump purges automatically when the reservoir fills, and a manual 40-second purge lets you clear it whenever you choose.
  • High Airflow: Moves up to 300 CFM across the coil, so you get faster drying in confined, stagnant spaces.
  • Digital Humidistat: Use the up/down buttons on the electronic control panel to set humidity from 26 to 99 percent, or select CO for continuous operation.
  • Job Hour Tracking: Press the time control 1 time for current operating hours or 2 times for lifetime hours, so you can log job times and service intervals.
  • Lockable Controls: The electronic panel locks while running, and its operating indicator shows this locked status, so nobody on site changes your settings by accident.
  • Automatic Defrost: When ice forms on the coil, the compressor shuts off while the blower melts it, so you keep drying near 33 degrees F.
  • Ductable Air Outlet: The outlet accepts ducting 7 inches in diameter or larger, so you can spread the inlet and outlet apart for better drying.
  • Plug-In Power: Plugs into a 110-120 volt outlet with no hardwiring and carries ETL certification, though its 4.2 amp, 460 watt draw means you should check your circuit.
  • Rotomolded Housing: Industry-standard rotomolded plastic holds up in rough job conditions, and the interlocking design keeps stacked PA-45-LGR dehumidifiers solid during transport.

Will It Fit Your Crawl Space?

At 25.21 x 15.11 x 20.11-Inches (L x W x H), the PA-45-LGR is small enough for crawl spaces, unheated storage buildings, and tight basement corners. It weighs 52.9 pounds, so you can set it in place and move it between jobs without much trouble. At 72 dB it runs only slightly louder than normal conversation, which helps when the space sits under rooms people are using.

The 2 capacity figures cover different conditions. The 85-pint rating is measured at AHAM conditions (80 degrees F and 60 percent relative humidity). The 145-pint figure applies at saturation (90 degrees F and 90 percent relative humidity), which is closer to what you'll see on a fresh water damage job.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're a restoration contractor or a homeowner dealing with a damp crawl space, this dehumidifier does its best work in confined, unheated areas you can't check on every day. You should know that error codes flash right on the control panel and are listed in the owner's manual, so you can diagnose a fault on site. The pump and the cold-weather rating matter most, because together they keep it drying with nobody emptying water. For cramped, chilly spaces, this compact PURAERO is easy to recommend.

    Reliable at two years

Used in winter in 900sq ft glass enclosure that averages 60 degrees. Does not prevent frost on window frames when below freezing but drastically reduces dripping and mold growth. Continues to extract at low temperatures. Reliable through 5272hr over two years. 61 decibels measured by apple watch approximately 1 foot above. Would give it 5 stars if the blower throttled back when the compressor was off and if it lasts more than four years. So far so good.
