Description
Description
This Distinctions 9,000 BTU Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner features a heat pump for more economical heating, including emergency backup electric heat for very cold temperatures. Install this versatile unit configured for central desk control or for room control using a wall-mounted thermostat or the on-board control panel.
Cooling, Heat Pump, and Fan-Only
In addition to efficient cooling, this PTAC is equipped with heat pumps and emergency heat for automatic quick warm-up should the room temperature fall 8 degrees below the set point. Once the temperature rises, the reverse-cycle heat pump resumes operating.
It also features a fan-only option when only air circulation is needed. The vent door can be opened to allow fresh air to circulate through the room as desired.
LED indicators show the operating mode, the fan speed, power operation, and the set point up and down buttons.
Note: Distinctions PTACs should only be installed and serviced by a trained, qualified HVAC technician.
Control Options
The Distinctions PTAC with heat pump allows control to be operated using one of three set-up options to assist in controlling temperature settings. DIP switches allow a temperature range to be set with five ranges to choose from.

Front Desk Control: This is a useful way for hospitality industry users to control the air conditioning and heat from a central location for all the units connected through it. DIP switches set the unit up for this type of control.

Wall Thermostat: DIP switches can also be used to wire the unit to the wall thermostat which can be used in conjunction with setting the temp range.

Control Panel: This allows simple control using the unit’s soft-touch control buttons for operating mode, fan speed, and temperature set point.
Optional Accessory
You will need a new wall sleeve to install this PTAC unit or if the existing one is worn or unstable. The Amana Collapsed Wall Sleeve and Drain Kit is available and will fit this unit.

Standard Size: The Distinction PTAC dimensions are 42 by 16 by 21 inches and will fit into any standard-sized wall sleeve.

Air Filters: These units have two air filters and can be easily cleaned by vacuuming off heavy soil and then using water and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly before replacing.

Auto Evaporator Freeze Protection: The compressor is turned off automatically to keep the evaporator from freezing, and the indoor fan is turned on when the evaporator temperature is too low.

Compressor Restart Delay: This feature extends the compressor's overall life by preventing the AC's short cycling. The unit is designed to give at least 3 minutes for equalizing refrigerant pressure for optimized cycling.

Memory: In case of a power outage, this unit will remember all the settings so when power is restored, it starts back up with the same settings.

High-Temperature Protection: When the unit is in heating operation, the compressor and/or electric heater will be switched off to prevent damage in high indoor blow air temperature or error indoor temperature sensor situations.
