The Friedrich 12,000 BTU Zone Premier PTAC with Heat Pump blends powerful cooling with efficient heating. Ideal for suites up to 550 square feet, this Friedrich PTAC offers durable and reliable stainless steel parts reinforced with anti-rust and corrosion finish. With its powerful heating and cooling capabilities, ultra-quiet operation, and 11.6 Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER), it’s the ideal PTAC for the hospitality industry.
- Maintenance-Friendly Design: The modular design provides easy access to internal components for simple cleaning, service, and maintenance.
- Internal Diagnostics: The self-diagnostic program alerts maintenance of component failures and operating problems.
- Digital Controls: Adjust the temperature, mode (cooling, heating, or fan-only), and fan speed (low, medium, or high) with easy-to-use digital controls.
Unique Heating Design
This Friedrich PTAC ‘s efficient heat pump uses less energy than traditional heaters by transferring warm air rather than creating it. It includes a backup 3.6 kW electric heater when the heat pump can’t operate below 40 degrees F.
- Instant Heat: Quickly heat spaces with this high-power heat pump mode.
- Temperature Monitoring: Features a built-in thermostat that monitors the temperature every nine minutes to maintain temperatures.
- Electronic Temperature Limiting: Set a low and high-temperature range to reduce energy usage.
- Electronic Defrost Control: The backup heater acts as a defrost control to keep the heat pump working effectively and efficiently for longer.
- Friedrich PTAC Universal Heater Cord: To increase the power of the electric heater for colder environments, upgrade to a 5 kW backup electric heater with the Friedrich 5 kW Heater Cord.
Quiet and Efficient Operation
This Friedrich model was built to provide quiet and efficient heating and cooling throughout the year.
- Desk Control: Connect to an Energy Management Thermostat to enable remote staff control. This provides control of the PTAC’s energy usage, earning it an 11.6 EER and saving money.
- Two-Motor Design: Features one indoor and one outdoor motor. This permits the indoor motor to run slower, reducing indoor sound levels without giving up heating or cooling power
- High-Efficiency Rotary Compressor: This rotary compressor maximizes the durability and efficiency of the Friedrich 12,000 BTU PTAC as the heat is running.
- Quick Start and Stop: The two permanently lubricated fans are delayed to prevent starting or stopping at the same time as the compressor, ensuring quiet operation.
- Vibration Isolators: The compressor is mounted with vibration isolators to ensure quiet and smooth operation.
- Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: The R-32 refrigerant possesses low global warming potential.

- Stainless Steel Durability: The Friedrich PTAC uses stainless steel parts and a powder-coated finish to avoid rust and corrosion.
- Standard Sizing: This PTAC measures an industry-standard 42-inch width, making it simple to replace old PTACs.
- Dehumidifier: Remove up to 2.75 pints of excess moisture every hour.
- Improved Air Distribution: The tangential blower wheel has almost five times the surface area of a typical PTAC fan and creates even air distribution.
- Adjustable Louvers: Redirect the airflow by tilting the reversible indoor louvers.
- Air Filter: The easily replaceable filters catch airborne particles and extend the machine's lifespan.
- Fresh Air Outlet: Adjust this outlet to allow fresh and filtered outdoor air inside.
