Description

Guest rooms and dorm suites need heat in January and cooling in July from the same wall opening. The Friedrich 12,000 BTU ZoneAire Select PTAC Heat Pump handles both seasons plus a fan-only mode, so you can give every room its own climate without affecting the room next door. Its Instant Heat mode warms a cold room with the electric heater, then hands off to the heat pump to hold the temperature.

Noise matters when your guests are sleeping a few feet away. Friedrich uses separate indoor and outdoor fan motors so the indoor motor can turn slower, and both fans start and stop on a delay from the compressor to avoid a single loud jolt. A tangential blower wheel spreads air across a wide path, so the room warms or cools evenly instead of blasting one corner.
