Description

The Friedrich 14,500 BTU ZoneAire Select PTAC w/ Heat Pump provides reliable and year-round temperature control. Its powerful AC and 13,600 BTU heat pump can circulate 450 CFM of heated or cool air in hotels, dorms, and other rooms up to 650 square feet. It features easy installation with standard Friedrich wall sleeves, grills, thermostats, and other accessories.

  • Simple Controls: Adjust the temperature, mode (heat, cool, and constant fan), and fan speed (high, low, and auto) easily with the easy-to-use button controls
  • Dehumidification: Remove up to 4.44 pints of moisture in an hour to reduce humidity.
  • Air filters: The washable filters capture airborne particles from reaching the internal components and extend the machine's life expectancy.

Ultra-Quiet and Durable Design

Friedrich PTACs utilize superior materials and an ultra-efficient design to reduce sound levels and increase durability for all-season temperature control. 

  • Dual Motors: Features two permanently lubricated fan motors, one inside and one outside, so the indoor motor can run slower. This reduces sound levels without lowering performance.
  • Quick Start and Stop: The two permanently lubricated fans are delayed to prevent starting or stopping at the same time as the compressor, ensuring quiet operation.
  • High-Efficiency Rotary Compressor: This rotary compressor maximizes the durability and efficiency of the Friedrich 14,500 BTU PTAC as the heat is running.
  • Vibration Isolators: The rotary compressor is mounted with vibration isolators to ensure quiet and smooth operation of the compressor.
  • Even Air Distribution: The tangential blower wheel provides a wide airflow path, quietly and evenly distributing it throughout the room.
  • Durable Construction: The galvanized zinc-coated steel wall sleeve and steel base pan are powder-coated with a polyester finish for durability and sound reduction.
  • Corrosion Protection: The indoor and outdoor coils are coated in Diamonblue Advanced corrosion protection and the outdoor coils are encased in aluminum endplates to withstand harsh outdoor environments.

Powerful and Efficient Heating

This Friedrich PTAC‘s efficient heat pump uses less energy than traditional heaters. It transfers warm air rather than creating it. A backup 5 kW electric heater is included for when the heat pump can’t operate below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Energy Management: Connect with an Exceptional Energy Management Thermostat to integrate multiple PTACs into a central control system.
  • Thermostat Capable: Its pop-out wiring module makes connecting it to a thermostat quick and easy.
  • Temperature Monitoring: This PTAC will test the room temperature every nine minutes to maintain the desired temperature.
  • Temperature Limiting: Set a high and low-temperature limit range to reduce energy usage.
  • Instant Heat Mode: Quickly heat a room to the desired temperature with the electric heater and then maintain that temperature with the heat pump for increased comfort.
  • Electronic Defrost Control: The electric heater can provide additional heat to increase the heat pump efficiency.
  • Freeze Protection: When set to auto heating, if an unoccupied room temperature reaches below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, the electric heater will automatically start, preventing the heat pump from freezing.
  • Friedrich PTAC Universal Heater Cord: To increase the energy efficiency of the electric heater in warmer environments, upgrade to a 3.6 kW backup electric heater with the Friedrich 3kW Heater Cord.
