Description

Not every apartment or hotel suite has room for an outdoor condenser or a through-the-wall cabinet. The Friedrich Vert-I-Pak 12000 BTU VTAC Heat Pump puts the whole heating and cooling system in one vertical package. It sits in a closet or utility space behind a return-air grille and moves air through the exterior wall. It comes in 2 voltage options, and each one offers a choice of 3 electric backup heater sizes.

The heat pump keeps running at outdoor temperatures as low as 10 degrees F, and the electric backup heater takes over when you need more warmth. The system uses R-32 refrigerant, and its Diamonblue condenser coil adds corrosion protection for humid and coastal buildings. When service is due, the chassis slides out so your maintenance staff can get to the components quickly.

QuietMaster Engineering: Specialized insulation, gasket seals, a free-floating chassis, and a dynamically balanced blower cut vibration transfer, so hotel rooms and senior living spaces stay quiet.
420 CFM Airflow: Moves air across 2 fan speeds, and a fan-only mode lets you circulate air without running the compressor.
Efficient Power Draw: In cooling mode it draws a maximum of 1,057 watts, which helps you plan circuits and estimate operating costs across many suites.

Choose Your Voltage and Backup Heater Size

Each configuration pairs 1 of 2 supply voltages, 208-230 volt or 265 volt, with a 2.5, 3.4, or 5 kW electric backup heater.

208-230 Volt with 2.5 kW Heater: This configuration runs on standard building power, draws up to 6.4 amps in cooling for easier circuit sizing, and adds a 2.5-kilowatt heater suited to mild winters.
208-230 Volt with 3.4 kW Heater: This model draws up to 6.4 amps in cooling and steps up to a 3.4-kilowatt heater, giving you more backup warmth than the 2.5-kilowatt version.
208-230 Volt with 5 kW Heater: This model draws up to 6.4 amps in cooling and carries the largest 5-kilowatt heater, which suits suites that face long, cold winters.
265 Volt with 2.5 kW Heater: Built for commercial buildings with higher-voltage wiring, this model draws up to 5.8 amps in cooling and includes a 2.5-kilowatt heater for mild climates.
265 Volt with 3.4 kW Heater: This model draws up to 5.8 amps in cooling and adds a 3.4-kilowatt heater, giving you more backup warmth than the 2.5-kilowatt version.
265 Volt with 5 kW Heater: This model draws up to 5.8 amps in cooling and pairs it with the 5-kilowatt heater for the strongest backup heat in the line.

Note: Every configuration requires the Friedrich Vert-I-Pak Wall Plenum, a 2-part telescoping sleeve installed in the exterior wall.
