Description

Floor space in a hotel suite or apartment is too valuable to give up to a bulky wall sleeve or an outdoor condenser. The Friedrich Vert-I-Pak 9000 BTU VTAC Heat Pump puts heating and cooling into a single vertical cabinet that sits in a closet or small utility room, so your living area stays clear. You can choose standard or commercial voltage, and either one comes with your choice of 3 electric backup heater sizes.

It's just as easy to service. The chassis slides out for inspections or part replacements, so your tenants or guests aren't without heat or cooling for long. You can install it from the front or either side to suit the closet layout.

Key Features and Benefits of the Friedrich Vert-I-Pak 9000 BTU VTAC Heat Pump

  • Cooling Capacity: Delivers 9,000 BTU of cooling with up to 360 CFM of airflow and is sized for a recommended 450 square feet, so your room cools evenly.
  • Efficiency Ratings: A 10.6 EER2 and 12.3 SEER2 rating, with a maximum cooling draw of 887 watts, helps keep your operating costs down through long summers.
  • Heat Pump Heating: Produces 4,900 to 8,600 BTU of heat from 17 to 47 degrees F outdoor temperatures, with a 6.3 HSPF2 rating and operation down to 10 degrees F.
  • R-32 Refrigerant: Works with an automatic defrost cycle that keeps the coil free of frost, so heating holds up when temperatures drop.
  • Fresh Air Intake: Passive ventilation draws in up to 60 CFM of outdoor air, while a 25 x 20-inch MERV 13 filter catches fine dust and allergens.
  • QuietMaster Engineering: QuietMaster insulation and gasket seals work with a free-floating chassis to limit vibration, and a balanced blower keeps noise low in bedrooms.
  • Thermostat Control: Electronic controls work with wired or wireless wall-mounted thermostats, including energy management models that let you monitor every room from one place.
  • Fan Settings: Choose between 2 fan speeds or use fan-only mode to move air without running the compressor, which saves energy on mild days.
  • Diamonblue Coil Protection: Diamonblue corrosion protection on the condenser coil helps it hold up in humid or coastal climates where salty, damp air wears down metal.
  • Compact Footprint: Measures 23 x 23 x 32-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 114 pounds, so it fits inside a small closet.
  • Certified Performance: It is AHRI certified and cETLus listed, which gives you verified efficiency ratings and safety compliance to show inspectors.

Choose Your Voltage and Backup Heat

You can pair either the 208-230-volt or 265-volt power supply with a 2.5, 3.4, or 5 kW electric heater, giving you 6 configurations in total.

  • 208-230 Volt, 2.5 kW Heater: This configuration suits standard wiring and adds modest backup warmth for mild climates.
  • 208-230 Volt, 3.4 kW Heater: This version offers mid-range backup heat for regions with regular cold snaps.
  • 208-230 Volt, 5 kW Heater: This version delivers the most backup heat on standard wiring for long, cold winters.
  • 265 Volt, 2.5 kW Heater: This model connects to the higher-voltage wiring common in large commercial buildings and adds light supplemental warmth.
  • 265 Volt, 3.4 kW Heater: This option runs on commercial power with a balanced amount of backup heat for hotels in areas with moderate winters.
  • 265 Volt, 5 kW Heater: This version gives commercial buildings the strongest backup heating in the line.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you manage hotel rooms or apartments where floor space is tight, the Vert-I-Pak is worth a close look. It works best in a closet serving a single room of about 450 square feet.

Match the voltage to your building's wiring first, because that choice is fixed. Then pick a heater size based on how cold your winters get, since the electric backup takes over when the heat pump reaches its limit. For quiet comfort that stays out of sight, this heat pump is a smart use of a small closet.
