Every minute, the system pulls in room air from all sides of the air cleaner. 4-Stage Filtration System
The HealthMate Air Cleaner's 4-stage combination filter includes:
- PERMAFILT Pre-Filter - During stage 1, air passes through a cotton PERMAFILT pre-filter, which captures particles easily seen by the naked eye, such as large dust and pet dander particles.
- Medium Particle Filter - Next, a medium particle filter traps small- to medium-size allergens, such as mold, pollen, and dust mites.
- Carbon Blend Filter – Next, air moves through a 15-pound carbon and natural zeolite filter where odors, chemicals, gases, fumes, and VOCs are absorbed and locked away.
- Medical-Grade HEPA Filter - Lastly, air glides through 60 square feet of true medical-grade HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) material where it is scrubbed free of harmful bacteria and viruses as well as smaller pollen, mold, pet dander, dust, and ragweed particles.

Made in the USA, the Austin Air HealthMate Air Purifier is constructed with sturdy, long-lasting components that boost efficiency and energy savings. These include an energy-efficient Permanent-Split Capacitor (PSC) motor, a powerful centrifugal fan, and an all-steel outer body.

I purchased this air purifier because it contains the highest amount of activated charcoal of any purifier available, as I hoped it would be effective at reducing the smell of VOC off-gassing from some new recycled rubber mats in my home gym. The appliance is solidly built and very simple to operate and also very quiet, all of which is great. However after about 5 days it doesn't appear to have made much difference yet in the odor from the rubber mats. But I will keep using it, perhaps it just takes longer than that.
Shipping was prompt and the prices were reasonable at Sylvane.

I've tried this air purifier twice now. The first time the until made it a loud clanking noise and it did arrive dusty on the top despite being in packaging. The second time we didn't even try to turn it on because the unit itself and the filter inside arrived so dirty. I bought it for the benefits of no off gassing like some of the plastic ones but I would go winix or coway.

Great purifier. I researched a lot and wanted the carbon filter that was not just a small amount. Very quiet on low setting which is where it is for daily maintenance. A bit loud on high but that's not needed for regular use, just for starting up. #sweepstakes
