This was the second Honeywell 70 pint dehumidifier which I purchased from Sylvane in the past two years. I researched dehumidifiers extensively and followed the recommendations of Consumer Reports; then checked availability and pricing with many vendors both on-line and in person. Sylvane had the most extensive selection of dehumidifiers, including the one I desired, and their pricing was the most competitive. In addition, the unit was shipped on the order date and received by me within two days (three days before the estimated delivery date)!! I recently recommended Sylvane to my son who was in the market for a dehumidifier. He also ordered a Honeywell unit from Sylvane and received it in ONE DAY!!! Dealing with Sylvane has been a pleasure.

I bought this as the Danby model I was replacing after 5 years was out of stock. The Honeywell runs continuously but never gets to the humidity it's set at even when the weather and basement isn't humid. Never much water in the sump pump hole. I know this is not normal as the Danby didn't do this. It always drew moisture out of the air. The Danby completely eliminated the damp basement smell and the Honeywell does not. This Honeywell throws off a lot of heat, heating up a normally cool basement and, thus, heating up the lower floor above it. 51 degrees out tonight and had to turn the air conditioners on as it's 77 in my bedroom. The Danby didn't spew hot air.
