Description
Description
Dry indoor air can make a room feel uncomfortable. The Honeywell HUL585B Top Fill Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier answers that with visible cool mist with a dual directional mist outlet that provides mist in two directions to allow you to control where the mist releases. It is quiet enough to leave running beside your bed overnight while it adds moisture back to the room.
It delivers comfort during cold and flu season, or when the air is simply just too dry. Air conditioning in summer dries a room much the same way heating does in winter, so you can keep the same humidifier working year-round in a bedroom, nursery, home office, or living room.
Key Features and Benefits of the Honeywell HUL585B Top Fill Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier
- Runtime: On low, you get 36 hours of continuous mist per fill, which covers a full night plus the next day.
- Tank Capacity: The tank holds 1.25 gallons of water, with an easy to fill and clean design.
- Dual Nozzles: Two independent outlets rotate 90 degrees in each direction from the front, letting you send mist where you need it.
- Essential Oil Tray: The built-in tray holds your essential oils so the mist carries scent through the room as it humidifies.
- Automatic Shutoff: Automatic safety shutoff stops the humidifier when the tank runs dry, so you can run it unattended.
- Refill Indicator: A humidity-reached light and water refill indicator tell you at a glance when to top the tank off.
- Lightweight Build: At 3.1 pounds and measuring 10.2 x 10.2 x 16.1 inches (D x W x H), it's easy to move from room to room without taking up any precious space.
Will the HUL585B Keep Up With Your Room?
This humidifier is rated for single rooms up to 400 square feet, which lines up with most bedrooms and nurseries, as well as offices and mid-size living rooms. In a space near the top of that range, expect to run higher mist output and refill the 1.25-gallon tank more often than the 36-hour low-setting figure suggests, since runtime drops as output rises. In a smaller bedroom, low output keeps the room comfortable and gets you the full 36 hours between fills. If your space is open-plan or spans more than 400 square feet, you will get better results placing the humidifier in the room where you spend the most time rather than trying to treat the whole floor from one spot.
Sylvane's Expert Take
Choose the HUL585B if you want moisture in one room without the recurring chore of filter changes. It does its best work close to where you sleep or sit, since the two rotating nozzles let you point mist where you need it. The one thing to know before you commit is that the controls are manual, so you set mist output by hand rather than entering a target humidity level and walking away.
The most loved feature is the top-fill opening, which makes filling and cleaning less awkward. For a black, filter-free cool mist humidifier you can live with in a bedroom, this one is hard to argue with.
