Description

The S&P PV-DEDPV Dryer Exhaust Duct Power Ventilator is designed for use with gas or electric clothes dryers. It allows dryer duct lengths to be extended up to 120 feet.

  • High Static Pressure Capability: This power ventilator, equipped with a backward-inclined centrifugal impeller, can handle high static pressure.
  • Automatic Operation: This dryer ventilator features an integral pressure sensor that operates automatically once positive pressure is sensed for over 10 seconds.
  • Class F Insulation: Capable of exhausting air up to a maximum of 167 degrees F.

Increase Safety

Long dryer duct runs can pose safety concerns because the fan cannot overcome the high static pressure (SP), reducing airflow. Temperatures rise, and lint builds up, creating a serious fire hazard. Installing this dryer ventilator overcomes high SP and increases airflow to relieve these concerns.

Determining Total Length

To discover if the S&P PV-DEDPV dryer exhaust duct power ventilator can be used for their dryer, customers must determine the total equivalent length of the dryer duct.

First, add all of the straight pieces of duct together, including all duct between the exhaust outlet and the vent cap. Then, add five feet for every 90-degree elbow or bend, plus five feet for the dryer vent cap to find the total equivalent length. This total must be within these parameters:

  • Minimum duct length: 30 feet
  • Maximum duct length: 120 feet

Fan Environment and Mounting

  • Temperature Range: The PV-DEDPV is suitable for indoor environments only, with temperature ranges of 40 degrees F to 140 degrees F.

  • Mounting Location: Choose a mounting location that allows maintenance accessibility to the cleanout duct sections and orients the fan so that air flows in the exhaust direction.
  • Secondary Lint Trap:  A Secondary Lint Trap must be installed between the dryer and the PV-DEDPV if it is located less than 15 linear feet from the clothes dryer exhaust outlet. A  Secondary Lint Trap should be installed between the clothes dryer and DEDPV if it is located less than 25 linear feet from the clothes dryer exhaust outlet.
