Filter smells like plastic and the smell will not go away. I bought 4 of these and they are unusable. An air filter is supposed to clean the air, not put a plastic smell throughout the house. Unfortunately, I thought the odor would eventually dissipate if I used the filters, so I did not complain immediately. Once I realized they needed to be returned the 30-day return policy had expired. After several calls where I was told this would have to be presented to the manager, I never received a return call. Finally, Iwas able to contact someone and was told to call Whirlpool, Sylvane's 30-day return policy has expired.

Felt it was a safer bet than the knockoffs on Amazon. No off-gassing smell like some of those.
