Description

One of the most energy-efficient residential dehumidifiers on the market, the American-engineered and assembled Santa Fe Classic Dehumidifier 4044710 eliminates moisture and humidity problems in large basements and crawl spaces. The Classic removes 116 pints of moisture per day under AHAM conditions (80 degrees F at 60 percent RH) and approximately 220 pints at saturation (100 percent relative humidity).

 

Simple Set Up 

In many applications, the Santa Fe Classic dehumidifier requires virtually no assembly. Simply plug it into a standard 15-amp, 115-volt grounded outlet, attach the supplied drain hose, and route it to a nearby floor drain.

Efficient Moisture Removal

Santa Fe dehumidifiers are known for efficient operation for years of use. The Santa Fe Classic is constructed with a more efficient compressor, refrigerator coils, and an internal fan — and uses Santa Fe's efficiency-boosting pre-cooling technology.

As a result, it dehumidifies at a higher energy factor than comparable models of the same capacity (5.9 pints/kWh).

Ideal Spaces for Use

Use the Santa Fe Classic in a large basement or crawl space for optimal performance. Use these guidelines from Santa Fe on your space sizing: 

  • Up to 2,900 square feet in tightly sealed areas.
  • Up to 2,700 square feet in moderately-sealed areas.
  • Up to 2,500 square feet in areas with a few leaks and imperfections.

Upgraded 6-Year Warranty 

Manufacturers have announced that Santa Fe dehumidifiers now have an upgraded warranty that guarantees performance and customer satisfaction for up to six years. 

This industry-leading “Peace of Mind” warranty covers all Santa Fe dehumidifiers manufactured after January 1, 2024, with a 5-year warranty against operational failures and a 6-year warranty for faulty components.

In the unlikely event of a unit breakdown, Santa Fe will either replace or repair the affected unit. However, customers should consult their Owner’s Manual for detailed information about their warranty’s terms and conditions.

Optional Ducting Kit

An optional collar duct kit and ducting accessories are also available. You might prefer to duct your dehumidifier if standalone operation is impractical. Popular ducting options include:

    What we needed (for a long time) in the basement

    Needed to purchase a true basement dehumidifier - the smaller unit worked however only for a small area. Note that a meter is not included to read the humidity so I purchased one online - cost only $10.00 and placed on the other side of the basement. This actually has worked out better as I can adjust the Santa Fe Classic to the setting to ensure the entire basement is addressed. Ordered from Sylvane, the item was shipped quickly and communications was good. I ordered early in the week and received on Friday. It is a good size and heavy so be prepared to get it to the basement if you need a friend - but overall not too bad. Basement went from 70% or so to 45% give or take now. No assembly needed outside of installing the filters and connecting the draining tube. Overall would recommend the unit and also Sylvane.

    Keeps my basement dry

    I have about a 2300 square foot basement and previously owned a Sears Kenmore unit that froze up on me all the time. I chucked that unit and bought this one. It keeps my basement dry and when you go downstairs - you can smell and feel the difference. No more mustiness. Now I gotta figure out how to make it less dusty but I guess that is a whole different issue! I have the water dump out into a pump that is sitting next to my air handler already - so that is real easy.
