Info & Guides

Description

Dry winter air spreads across a whole floor, not just one room. The Stadler Form Oskar Big Humidifier is a larger version of the brand's bestselling Oskar, and it brings cool, evaporative moisture to your living room, open kitchen, and connected spaces. Its minimalist shell looks more like home electronics than a household appliance.

You can refill it 2 ways. Pour tap water straight into the reservoir through a flip-down front panel, or lift off the top half and carry the tank to the sink. Patented 4V-filter technology helps keep the water source clean, and the included Water Cube stops germs and bacteria from growing inside the reservoir.

Key Features and Benefits of the Stadler Form Oskar Big 3.5 Gal. Humidifier

  • Large-Room Coverage: Evaporative output of up to 3.5 gallons per day humidifies spaces up to 1,100 square feet, so 1 humidifier can cover your open-plan living area.
  • Built-In Hygrostat: Set a target between 40 and 55 percent relative humidity, and the humidifier tracks the room and blinks its LEDs once that level is reached.
  • 4 Output Settings: An LED-lit speed selector steps from normal to high output, so you can match the moisture to the season and the room.
  • 24-Hour Runtime: A full 1.5-gallon tank runs for up to 24 hours between refills, so in most cases you only fill it once a day.
  • Quiet Night Mode: Noise tops out at 46 dB, and night mode dims the display or turns it off so the light won't disturb your sleep.
  • Automatic Shut-Off: The humidifier turns itself off when the reservoir runs dry, and a red LED tells you it's time to refill.
  • Filter Change Alert: A blinking blue LED shows when the wick filter needs changing, so you don't have to keep track of the schedule.
  • Essential Oil Tray: The removable fragrance container holds a few drops of your favorite scent and releases it into the room as the humidifier runs.
  • 30-Watt Draw: Maximum power use of 30 watts on a standard 110 to 120-volt household outlet keeps all-day running costs low.
  • Color Options: Choose white or black to match your décor and the look of the room it sits in.

Will the Oskar Big Fit Your Space?

The Oskar Big measures 18.6 x 7.9 x 11.5-Inches (L x W x H). That wide, low shape fits on a sideboard, a low shelf, or the floor beside a sofa. At 8.6 pounds, it's easy to move from room to room as the seasons change. You control every setting manually with the buttons and LED display on the humidifier itself, so there's nothing to pair or configure before you switch it on.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're dealing with dry air across an open living room or several connected spaces, the Oskar Big is sized for the whole area, not a single bedroom. The hygrostat is the feature that matters most: set your target once and the humidifier regulates itself.

Plan on 1 refill a day in peak season, and the lift-off top makes that refill quick. The white and black versions work exactly the same, so pick the finish that suits your room and enjoy comfortable air across your main floor.

    Guitar humidifier- works great.

Works great, relatively quite but small and nice looking. Have it on a side stand next to the sofa and it is doing a good job keeping my guitars humidified to above 30% here in the high mountains of Colorado in the winter. Btw I do have to top off the water reservoir daily - no biggy

    Beautiful Design, But Not Effective

I've been looking for a humidifier for the room where we have our piano. It's basically a sunroom with open doorways at either end. The room is nearly 350-400 sq. feet. I wanted a humidifier that didn't look like a humidifier. They all look like something you find in an institution like a nursing home. So I was excited to find the Oskar Big. I absolutely love how it looks and the blue lights make it look hi tech. But ultimately, a humidifier has to humidify the air and this one is nearly worthless. At this price, that is not acceptable. I knew evaporative humidifiers are not great, but I thought I'd give it a try. It is darn quiet, well it starts out that way. One of the fans eventually developed a ticking sound at high speed. So much for quiet. And the hydrostat I think is schizophrenic. I have several independent hydrostats sitting near the unit and I never can get more than 20-25% humidity, even running all the time. When it runs out of water it seems I need to power it off and on to get the hydrostat to register and turn the fans back on. Otherwise it never goes on again. Save your money and go buy an ultrasonic one like an Air-o-Swiss, which is what I should have done.
