Meet the Manufacturer: Hessaire

Meet the Manufacturer: Hessaire

Just by looking through our website, it's easy to see that we carry a variety of brands and products. Have you ever wondered how we decide which brands to offer our customers? We are always looking for brands that fit our customers' needs and lifestyles. That's why we've put together our Meet the Manufacturer series to give you a "behind-the-scenes" look at some of our manufacturers.

Today we're taking a look at Hessaire, manufacturers of evaporative swamp coolers, their history, products, and how they're giving back to their local community. You'll quickly see why we partnered with this exceptional company.

Can you provide a short history of Hessaire?

Hessaire was founded in 1997 by Mr. Jack Hess, who has over 50 years of design experience in air-movement products. Many of the designs for air-conditioner condenser fans, commercial and industrial fans in the market today can be traced back to Mr. Hess. He served as a consultant for Siemens, Carrier and many other global companies. We supply fans and condenser cooling solutions to the largest air-conditioner companies: Carrier, Trane, and Lennox, to name a few.

In 2007, Hessaire began manufacturing ventilation products for Grainger, Farmtek. We also began marketing our own evaporative coolers which are sold in Home Depot, Ace, True-Value, and Sylvane. Even though we have grown over the years and the company has transformed far beyond its beginnings, many of the original team are still with us today. Jack still reports to work and provides mentorship to the most talented engineering team, which includes three PhDs.

Where are Hessaire products developed and manufactured?

Hessaire products are developed in our advanced air movement lab in Cullman, Alabama. We use computational fluid and finite element analysis tools in our designs, which are then tested in our 35,000 CFM air chamber.

The evaporative coolers are manufactured in Hessaire's Jingjinag factory, located two hours west of Shanghai. We have 150,000 square feet where we do our own injection molding, metal fabrication, assembly, and testing. The shutter fans are assembled in both our Cullman and China facilities.

What are some of your most popular products?

Our mobile evaporative coolers range from 1,100 CFM to 13,000 CFM, cooling from 500 square feet to 3,000 square feet. The MC18, MC37, MC61, and MC92 are all the best-rated coolers in their class and gather great reviews online. The performance of Hessaire evaporative coolers is better than any of the comparably priced commercial and industrial fans sold on the market.

What’s a unique type of technology that Hessaire is known for?

Hessaire makes a wide range of fans and coolers. Our products are recognized for their highest efficiency measured in cubic feet of air volume/ watts of electricity (CFM/Watt). Our unique prop designs are also very quiet, and in people-cooling applications, our products deliver airflow over long distances.

What are some unique or interesting locations and situations where Hessaire products have been used?

During the California fires, people used Hessaire coolers as large-scale air cleaners. The wet pads filter out smoke and odor very efficiently. The coolers are also very effective for keeping mosquitos off people in outdoor living spaces.

Can you sum up what Hessaire is known for and what you offer in just a couple of sentences?

Best-performing air-movement products at a great value to the consumer. Our products live up to our motto's, “cooling solutions” that are affordable, and “Cool Air Anywhere”!

Has Hessaire won any consumer awards?

Hessaire evaporative coolers were voted the most innovative product at the 2018 National Hardware Show. We beat out some very well-known brands, such as Weber and Traeger, to win the award.

Is Hessaire involved in any charitable or civic organizations?

An active member of the Cullman Chamber of Commerce, Hessaire donates animal show fans to students to support the local Future Farmers of America and 4H, in addition to supporting the Home Depot Foundation for veterans. We deeply believe that we can bring affordable cooling solutions to any market.
