Optional Wi-Fi Enabled Model
The optional model E080W offers an AprilAire dehumidifier model with Wi-Fi-enabled technology that makes setup, pairing, and monitoring through AprilAire's Healthy Air App as easy as possible. The AprilAire Model E080W includes a Wi-Fi-enabled digital controller with an onboard color display, which can be used to set and change the dehumidifier's settings.
Note: The AprilAire E080W dehumidifier can either be controlled via Wi-Fi or with a connected 24V external wired controller, but not by both simultaneously.
Hardwire or Plug Design
Both models (E080 and E080H) offer the same features and whole-house dehumidifying capacity. The AprilAire E080 includes an 8-foot power cord for plug-and-play operation, while the E080H is hardwired.
Ducting Options
The AprilAire 80-Pint Dehumidifier is installed as part of your central HVAC system. As your system runs, the dehumidifier pulls air in using the return ducts, dehumidifies it, and sends dry air back into your rooms. The system can also run independently as a standalone dehumidifier, dehumidifying air in a single space.
Common installation locations include an equipment room, closet, basement, or attic. Hanging installation is also possible. Two 10-inch duct collars are included for ducting air return and supply, and the supply duct can be installed in one of two locations on the unit for more flexibility in your space.
Additional Features
- On-Board Humidity Control: Use the buttons to adjust the setting from 40 to 80 percent RH. Typically, customers initially set it to 55 percent and then adjust it based on their feelings.
- Automatic Sensing: Your dehumidifier will automatically sense the air and compare it to your humidity setting, then adjust its operation as needed.
- Air Filter: Remove dust and other impurities before air travels through the dehumidifier and back into your space.
- Auto Defrost Control: In calm conditions, an automatic defroster turns off the compressor and runs the blower until the corrosion-resistant aluminum coils are defrosted to protect the unit from damage.
- Adjustable Outlet Options: The duct collar is adjustable for top or side discharge applications.

My crawlspace dehumidifier failed and was no longer supported by my termite and crawlspace contractor who originally installed only 3 years ago. Unit was past warranty. They quoted me $2700 dollars to replace with an Aprilaire E080. Armed with exact machine information they planned to use, an internet search eventually pointed me to Sylvane company. Let me tell you, they have the best prices for dehumidifiers and possibly maybe only a very few companies that will sell direct to consumer. Others I researched pointed me to local contractors. I trust my termite contractor since using them for over 15 years, but given the price quoted and knowing what Aprilaire unitsretails for, it seems I was going to pay nearly $1000 for installation! Now I know not everyone can crawl under a house and install a dehumidifier, but my infrastructure was already in place. All I had to do is remove the faulty old unit, and install the new unit...place the condensate hose into the existing condensate pump, plug it in to the existing power outlet, set the humidity and "walk" away. Regarding Sylvane the company, I had pre-installation questions online and they were immediately most helpful. Installation questions I had were immediately answered and after installation questions I had were immediately answered by Sylvane texting. Don't deal with anyone else...this is your team.

I needed a dehumidifier for my crawl space. The AprilAire E080 worked great and the humidity dropped in a couple days to where it should be. It’s been one week in service and I hope it continues to work as well for a long time.

We've used a small space dehumidifier with minimal success in our barndo tiny home. This unit performs excellent and was not difficult to install. It is installed in our attic with a dedicated return and supply. Not sure why some reviews say this unit is loud, we can't hear it. We plan to build a forever home and we are going to stick with Aprilaire for our needs

I've tried the big box store dehumidifiers but they are way too loud and run constantly. Highly recommend this Aprilaire E080 for your finished basement as it quickly reduces and maintains the proper humidity. Sylvane made it easy to make the purchase which arrived in only 2-days!
