Description
This dehumidifier hanging kit is designed to easily suspend your dehumidifier in an attic or crawl space setting. With the brackets and eye bolts positioned horizontally on floor joists, this kit can safely hold a load of up to 200 pounds. Choosing to elevate your dehumidifier can help improve airflow when the unit is centrally located vertically—and if you are gravity draining it, there is more slope allowed on the condensate line if the dehumidifier is off the ground.

The kit is fairly easy and straightforward to use. The material it is made out of seems cheap (except the rope is decent, although you would expect a larger diameter), and one of the 8 snap-links was defective in my kit. It is easy to level the unit with each independent ratcheting pulley, but they just don't feel heavy duty enough for suspending an expensive unit. The product description overview states that this is for suspending in an attic or crawlspace. The instruction manual specifically states to not use it in an occupied space. I purchased this for use in a maintenance room without realizing that prohibition. It would have been nice to read that in the product description. I added safety chains as a backup, so I am not worried about a failure.

My humidifier purchase was a replacement for the 2nd Monster Dry unit in my crawlspace that failed in an6 year period. The Aprilaire 100 went in without incident and has been operating perfectly and dehumidifying since the minute of installation. In addition, the Aprilaire 100 unit has been keeping the humidity levels in my crawlspace consistent with the humidity level in the living area of may home. The Monster Dry units were not able to achieve that. My crawlspace was lined so that it air tight and completely enclosed . This was need to protect new hardwoods from buckling.
