The Friedrich 9,000 BTU Zone Premier PTAC with Heat Pump is a great option for circulating up to 330 CFM of cool or heated air in dorm and hotel rooms as large as 400 square feet. Built with Friedrich's trusted construction and efficient heat pump, it's a durable option for replacing old PTAC models. It uses 9,000 BTUs of cooling power, multiple temperature modes, and a maintenance-friendly design to keep rooms fresh all year.
- Stainless Steel Durability: The Friedrich PTAC uses stainless steel parts and a powder-coated finish to avoid rust and corrosion.
- Dehumidifier: Remove up to 2.11 pints of excess moisture every hour.
- Digital Controls: Adjust the temperature, mode (cooling, heating, or fan-only), and fan speed (low, medium, or high) with easy-to-use digital controls.
Quiet and Efficient Operation
This Friedrich model was built to provide quiet and efficient heating and cooling throughout the year.
- Desk Control: Connect to an Energy Management Thermostat to enable remote staff control. This provides control of the PTAC’s energy usage, earning it a 12.1 EER and saving money.
- Two-Motor Design: Features one indoor and one outdoor motor. This permits the indoor motor to run slower, reducing indoor sound levels without giving up heating or cooling power
- High-Efficiency Rotary Compressor: This rotary compressor maximizes the durability and efficiency of the Friedrich 9,000 BTU PTAC as the heat is running.
- Quick Start and Stop: The two permanently lubricated fans are delayed to prevent starting or stopping at the same time as the compressor, ensuring quiet operation.
- Vibration Isolators: The compressor is mounted with vibration isolators to ensure quiet and smooth operation.
- Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: The R-32 refrigerant possesses low global warming potential.
Unique Heating Design
This Friedrich PTAC uses less energy than traditional heaters by using a heat pump to transfer warm air instead of creating it. This model includes a backup 3.6 kW electric heater for temperatures below 40 degrees F when the heat pump can’t operate.
- Temperature Monitoring: Features a built-in thermostat that monitors the temperature every nine minutes to maintain temperatures.
- Electronic Temperature Limiting: Set a low and high-temperature range to reduce energy usage.
- Instant Heat: Quickly heat spaces with this high-power heat pump mode.
- Electronic Defrost Control: The backup heater acts as a defrost control to keep the heat pump working effectively and efficiently for longer.
- Friedrich PTAC Universal Heater Cord: To increase the power of the electric heater for colder environments, upgrade to a 5 kW backup electric heater with the Friedrich 5 kW Heater Cord.

We have owned Amana and LG ptacs, so far Friedrich is much better. The AC is much quieter and room temperature is more constant. Haven't used the heat yet. Will have to get back on that once the winter comes.
