Info & Guides

Description

Cold bathrooms and chilly rooms are where the Broan High Capacity Wall Heater does its best work. It mounts between wall studs, so you can add it to a room you already have or build it in while the walls are open. A dial on the front gives you infinite heat settings, from a quick boost on cold mornings to all-day warmth through the winter.

Key Features and Benefits of the Broan High Capacity Wall Heater

  • Built-In Thermostat: A disc-type adjustable thermostat with a security cover holds your set temperature and keeps anyone from bumping or changing your settings.
  • Dual-Voltage Wiring: Wires for either 240-volt or 208-volt power, so you can match the heater to the electrical service already in your home.
  • Half-Wattage Conversion: Converts in the field to half its rated wattage, so you can run the heater on a lower-amp circuit without overloading it.
  • Enclosed Heating Element: A steel-sheathed, plate-finned, heavy-duty element heats quickly and quietly, so it won't disturb you in a bathroom or living space.
  • Fan-Forced Airflow: A blower fan and downward louvers spread heat evenly through the room, so warmth reaches the area where you spend your time.
  • Overload Protection: A manual-reset thermal overload protector shuts the heater off if it overheats and keeps it off until you reset it.
  • Stud-Mount Housing: Heavy-duty 22-gauge steel housing mounts directly to 24-inch on-center studs and includes a housing mask to protect it during construction.
  • Lubricated Motor: A permanently lubricated fan motor is built for years of trouble-free running, with no oiling or routine motor upkeep on your part.
  • Baked Enamel Grille: The 18-gauge steel grille has a white baked-enamel finish that holds up over time and blends into your décor.
  • UL Listed: UL certification means the heater has been tested against recognized electrical safety standards before it goes into your wall.

Choose Your Wattage

This heater comes in 2000-watt, 3000-watt, and 4000-watt versions, and the right one depends on your room size and the circuit you plan to use.

  • 2000 Watt: This version heats up to 200 square feet with 6,827 BTUs at 240 volts and draws 8.33 amps, the lowest draw in the line, which leaves more room on a shared circuit. At 208 volts it covers 135 square feet with 5,120 BTUs.
  • 3000 Watt: Stepping up from the 2000-watt model, this version heats up to 300 square feet with 10,204 BTUs at 240 volts and draws 12.5 amps, giving you enough output for a mid-size room. On 208-volt power it covers 200 square feet with 7,680 BTUs.
  • 4000 Watt: The top tier adds a completely sealed, lubricated motor and heats up to 400 square feet with 13,653 BTUs at 240 volts, drawing 16.67 amps for your largest spaces. At 208 volts it covers 265 square feet with 10,204 BTUs.

Note: The circuit you tap for power must have an amp rating that supports the wattage you select.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're adding heat to a bathroom or framing a room with 24-inch stud spacing, this Broan line fits neatly into the wall. Plan placement first, because the heater needs to sit 12 inches from the floor and from adjacent walls. Choose a wattage based on your voltage as well as your square footage, since every model loses roughly a third of its coverage on 208-volt power. If you match the wattage to both your room and your circuit, you get steady, thermostat-controlled warmth without adding a separate wall control.
