Description
A big living room, open kitchen, or busy home office can overwhelm a small window air conditioner by mid-afternoon. The Keystone 18,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner line is built for those larger spaces. You can mount it in a single- or double-hung window, or through the wall when no window suits the room. It comes in Cooling Only and With Heat configurations.
The line is useful beyond peak summer, too. On mild spring and fall days, Fan Only mode and the air vent bring fresh air into the room. Energy Saver eases the compressor to cut power use. Sleep mode gradually raises the set temperature by 2 degrees F twice overnight, then returns to your setting after 6 hours.

- With Heat Model KSTHW18A: It includes 16,000 BTU of electric coil heating at 4,800 watts and 21.8 amps, and heats in temperatures down to 45 degrees F at a single fan speed. It moves up to 760 CFM with a 10.7 EER, draws 8.3 amps and 1,729 watts when cooling, weighs 117.5 pounds, and has an estimated $169 yearly operating cost.
Note: Both models run on 230 volts. The Cooling Only model needs a 20-amp circuit with a NEMA 6-20P plug, while the With Heat model needs a 30-amp circuit with a NEMA 6-30P plug.

If you're cooling a room close to 1,000 square feet, this Keystone line is sized for the job. Pick Cooling Only if central heat already covers your winters, since its higher EER keeps running costs down. Choose With Heat for a room where your furnace falls short in spring and fall.
Check your outlet before you order, because the 2 models use different plugs and circuits. Once that's settled, the slide-out chassis makes a heavy air conditioner much easier to set in place.
