General Aire 5500 Whole House Steam Humidifier For Up To 5,500 Sq. Ft.
Treat your home to year-round humidification with the General Aire 5500 Whole House Steam Humidifier. A dry climate can affect your health, but this whole-house humidifier keeps your indoor air at the best humidity level, no matter the weather. This humidifier has electrode steam technology and covers up to 5,500 square feet.
Note: This humidifier must be installed by a licensed contractor. If you do not plan to attach it to the ductwork, then the RMB35 Remote Blower Kit is required for installation.

This General Aire steam humidifier produces up to 28.5 gallons of moisture daily, effectively and consistently providing humidity to your home. This humidifier includes several key features:
- Electrode Steam Technology: The inner electrode element heats water to release steam through your home’s ductwork. The self-contained system has a contemporary design for a low-maintenance but effective appliance.
- Internal Voltage Switch: This house humidifier uses 120V or 240V power connections.
- GFX4 Humidistat: Included with the General Aire 5500, this humidistat controls the furnace blower motor for consistent humidity levels.

Purchased this steam humidifier for a 4000 sq ft, 3 level, house in very dry Northern Colorado. I was a bit worried as my water conductivity is on the low side at 78 us/cm where the unit is spec'ed for water conductivity between 125 and 1250 us/cm. In order to quickly precondition the filter I added a tea spoon of salt to the filter. After about 4 hours to install (I'm slow) the unit powered up and worked perfectly increasing the house humidify from 15% to 40% in about 2 days (with a outdoor temp of ~40F). This is very good product available at a great price and fast delivery from Sylvane.
