The AirFree Edge
The heart and soul of the AirFree Onix 3000 air purifier is its patented Thermodynamic Sterilizing System (TSS). In this system, air enters the AirFree Onix P3000 and is drawn into a ceramic sterilizing cylinder. This ceramic cylinder heats the air to around 400 degrees F, completely incinerating 99.99% of all microorganisms, including mold, bacteria, and viruses. Pollution particles, such as pollen, dust mite allergens, and pet dander, are also super-heated—making them completely harmless to you and your allergies. I live in an older home which doesn't get a lot of sun. When I moved in there were musty smells especially in the laundry room which is also the back entry into the house. I thoroughtly cleaned and removed the doors to the large storage closet where the smells were the strongest and have put the AirFree in it (there is a plug in the closet). All the musty smells are gone now. My only ""complaint"" is the blue light which you refer to as soothing. It is in fact the sort of light which destroys the macula in one's eyes and is therefore NOT soothing. Because this unit is on a shelf, I have placed it so I can mostly avoid looking at the light. Using it in other rooms then becomes more problematic. I would prefer that there be eye affirming light or no light at all.

Two days after ordering an AirFree Onix 3000 Air Purifier, I was pleasantly surprised to receive delivery. After reading the instructions, I immediately plugged it in, and in only a couple of days, my daughter and I could tell a difference. We both have hay fever, and I have asthma. Our sneezing and coughing reduced considerably - until we went outdoors. We returned indoors as soon as possible and enjoyed the reduction in allergy that we experienced. I plan to order two more purifiers in the near future. I am very thankful for this product!!

I have been researching Air Cleaners for about a year and was set on getting an IQair cleaner when I saw a review on the AirFree Onix 3000 Air Purifier. I was intrigued that the Airfree was using new technology that used heat to clean the air and required no filters so my annual costs would be a lot less than the IQair's. Since I wanted to put this in my bedroom the Airfree being completely quiet while the IQair was 48db at it's lowest setting was an important factor in the airfree's favor also. The Airfree is also small in size which made my wife happy as she was not crazy about putting something like the IQair that reminded her of a small furnace or refrigerator in her bedroom. Maybe they should make these things in wood tones like Cherry wood, well anyway I received the AirFree Onix 3000 Air Purifier from Sylvane a couple of days ago and plugged it in right away. Now I wait to see if the airfree will do the trick. The only way I'll be able to tell if it's doing the job (since there are no filters I can take out and look at) is if my sinuses clear up, which may take a week to as much as a month according to the instructions. My wife likes the soft blue light shining out the top as it gives us a nice nightlight. Will it work as well as the IQair probably not but if it does a reasonable job it will be worth it considering all the advantages I listed above. I have spent literally thousands on air cleaners over the years, and I've tried just about every kind there is. I have a very serious mildew and mold issue in my house, plus I have pets and allergies. I put this air cleaner in the room with the mildew smell. After several days I don't smell the mildew anymore. I am so pleased that I am purchasing another for my basement, which is musty. I noticed several negative reviews. I don't know why this company doesn't seem to be following up on those. I don't know why other people haven't had a positive experience, but my problem is severe and I have had a very positive experience with the device.
