The Model 700 functions as an evaporative humidifier, distributing up to 18 gallons of moisture per day. This is enough to humidify tightly sealed homes up to 4,200 square feet, average sealed homes up to 2,100 square feet, and loosely sealed homes up to 1,050 square feet.

Powered Model, Features a Built-In Fan

How It Operates
When connected to your HVAC system, the Aprilaire Model 700/700M Fan-Powered Whole House Humidifier humidifies your home using a natural evaporation process.
- Step 1: When the humidifier controller triggers a need for more humidity, the water automatically flows from the connected water line into a distribution tray located at the top of the humidifier. Water is distributed evenly across the width of this tray and directed to flow over Aprilaire’s patented Water Panel evaporator into the heart of the humidifier.
- Step 2: Moisture from the distribution tray is then evaporated into the incoming dry air, creating comfortably humidified air. Humidified air is then distributed throughout your home through your HVAC system’s return duct.

Two Aprilaire 700 models are available:
- Model 700: Comes with a digital humidity controller that supports both automatic “set it and forget it” operation and manual humidity control.
- Model 700M: Comes with a manual humidity controller that supports manual humidity control only.
Thorough instructions and guidance for setting and adjusting an ideal humidity level using the controllers are included with each model.

DIY install. Humidifier body portion pretty straight forward, if tricky to install. Noisy water solenoid. Wiring for the humidistat is advanced DIY. Aprilaire will only honor their 5 year ""warranty"" if the unit is professionally installed (gotcha !). My included Aprilaire 60 humidistat started malfunctioning after 4 years. About $150 to replace it (then unit started working fine again). Automatic RH inhouse adjustment based on outside temp works as advertised.

Initially installed Nov-2023, is working perfectly. Pros: Well designed product, offers lot of alternative setups. Sylvane purchase experience and delivery was perfect. Cons: Little (common) pieces are missing, like: (2) sheet metal screws to secure top of base to duct, no drain tube, no sealing tape, no wire nuts, no extension wire for external temperature sensor, ... All of these items can be easily found at any hardware store, it's just that you don't know they are missing until you need them and then have to make an extra trip (project delay) to finish the job. Would be nice if Aprilaire provide a list of 'things you gotta get for yourself to finish this install.""
