Description
Bring fresh air indoors while pushing out contaminants--allergens, odors, VOCs--and stale air with the Aprilaire 8145. Designed for energy-efficient homes up to 7,500-square feet, this fresh air ventilator is great for mild to humid climates.
Awarded the Energy Star Most Efficient rating for 2022, this system offers better air exchange control at 180 CFM. A powered blower and damper pull outside air into six-inch ducting of the HVAC return or supply plenum, mixing fresh air inside.
How Does It Work?
Great for LEED and passive-energy homes, the Aprilaire 8145 pulls in outside air and mixes with your home’s return air on the HVAC system. Up to 250 cubic feet of airflow (CFM) is whisked around the home, pushing stale air out through passive venting spots, such as kitchen vent hoods, fireplaces, and bathroom exhausts.

Powerful Internal Fan
This powered fresh air ventilator features a powerful internal fan that pulls in outside air. Flexible placement into return or supply ducts make for placement easier. Other features include:
- Remote Controller: Select from several Aprilaire controllers to program settings for humidity, temperature. Take a look at these models:
- Powered Damper: The powered damper opens and closes for fresh air intake.
- Temperature Sensor: An onboard temperature sensor gauges humidity and temperature for operation.
- Washable Filter: A removable filter comes out for maintenance and cleaning.

- Comfort Setting: Use pre-programmed low (10 - 30%) and high (45 - 70%) relative humidity ranges to limit ventilation.
- Blend Air: Kicks on fan when outside temperature is outside the high or low temperature range.
- Fresh Air LED: The fresh air LED illuminates when the ventilator is pumping fresh air.

I had the Aprilaire Fresh Air Ventilator installed next to my air handler in my attic. The price was reasonable and the install was simple. The controller that comes with it has all the features I need to schedule a fresh air exchange every hour in my home. The air quality in my home has improved significantly. I live very close to a busy highway so I don't open my windows when the weather is nice. Before the Aprilaire was installed, the atmosphere in my home was stale and stagnant and cooking smells lingered for days. Now with the Aprilaire working every hour, my homes feels fresher and healthier and it smells clean all the time. I never hear the unit running, it is so quiet. My power bills have not noticeably increased and I am 100% satisfied.

Very reasonably priced Ventilator that has both programmable modes and a basic timed override mode. This unit is very efficient regarding electricity usage. The only aspect that keeps from having 5 stars is that the fan could be quieter since it is evident in my return grill that is 15 feet away.
