Description
Description
The Broan Lo-Profile Gen 2 Bathroom Exhaust Fan is designed for demanding multifamily construction projects to install easily between 2x4 studs, to deliver code-compliant ventilation bathrooms and high-humidity spaces where traditional exhaust fans cannot fit. It comes in fan-only and humidity-sensing configurations.
Apartments, condominiums, and dense multifamily housing are where this DC-motor ventilation fan earns its keep, with three selectable airflow settings to provide greater jobsite flexibility, reducing what you have to stock.
Key Features and Benefits of the Broan Lo-Profile Gen 2 Bathroom Exhaust Fan
- Selectable Airflow: Settings of 50, 80, and 100 CFM plus continuous run let you cover spot or whole-home ventilation with one fan.
- Slim Housing: At 13.75 x 13 x 3.38 inches and 7 pounds, it fits between 2x4 studs and needs a square cutout of 10.25 inches.
- Quiet Operation: Rated at 1.0 sone or less, the upgraded motor and blower assembly stay unobtrusive enough to run continuously next to a bedroom.
- Energy Star Certified: Drawing 11 watts and 0.23 amps at full speed, this model is Energy Star certified, so continuous ventilation costs little to run.
- Code Compliance: Meets ASHRAE 62.2 and complies with California Title 24 FID requirements, so your ventilation plan addresses documented code requirements.
- Third-Party Certified: These Broan fans are ETL listed and HVI certified, giving you independently verified airflow and safety ratings.
- Static Pressure: Rated airflow holds at 0.4 inches water gauge, so elbows and longer duct runs do not cut ventilation short.
- Standard Ducting: The 4-inch round duct collar connects to residential ductwork without modifications.
- Standard Voltage: Wire to a household circuit rated for 120 volt power, so no new electrical work needs to happen with the installation.
Fan Only or Humidity Sensing: Choose Your Configuration
The two configurations differ in how the fan responds to humidity: fan-only operation or automatic humidity sensing.
- Fan Only Model LP510R2: This fan-only model uses manual controls and doesn't feature automatic humidity sensing, making it the direct choice when you control run time yourself.
- Humidity Sensing Fan Model LP510RS2: This model has a built-in humidity sensor that detects rapid moisture increases with a humidity setpoint (30 to 80 percent RH) and boosts the fan speed as required.
Sylvane's Expert Take
Use the Broan Lo-Profile Energy Star Bathroom Exhaust Fan series for multifamily bathrooms and condo projects where the ceiling or wall cavity is too shallow for a conventional fan housing. The humidity-sensing configuration fits windowless bathrooms where steam lingers, while the fan-only model fits spaces where humidity can be controlled manually. The slim housing and quiet motor are ideal for both retrofit projects and new construction.
