Description

The Broan Tandem Transition Kit simplifies installation since it requires only one hole to be cut in the exterior wall to create an outside connection for an HRV or ERV. This kit is only compatible with units with a flow rate of less than 110 CFM. Installation is easy with included hardware, and is completed with a concealing, white polypropylene dual outside port. Even with only one port, there is almost no cross-contamination between exhaust and intake airflows. This transition unit fits both 5-inch or 6-inch diameter insulated flexible ducts. Part # VTYIK1.

Worked out but it's just a foam tube

I used this for my Broan ERV. It worked out ok. $100 for essentially a styrofoam tube & a plastic vent seems excessive. From the pictures, I thought it was like cast metal or something since it looks gray. It's 2 pieces of foam zip tied together. The foam is very strong and it never seemed like it was going to break during installation. It was difficult to get the ductwork attached because the 2 halves of the tube are so close together. I used 6" insulated flexible ductwork and metal worm gear clamps to secure it. However, despite the difficulties of installation, it did all work out. It was nice needing only one 6" hole to the outside.

good product and makes install easier.

Connect two 6"" lines together so you only have to drill one hole outside. Made well and easy to hook up to.
