Monitor and improve indoor air quality with the Airmega 400 Smart Air Purifier by Coway. Two-stage, combination HEPA filtration provides allergy and asthma sufferers with clean, healthy air.
This powerful air purifier works in spaces up to 1,560 square feet with 410 cubic feet per minute (CFM) of airflow.
Real-Time Monitoring
Traditionally, allergy and asthma sufferers had to rely on blind faith to believe that their air purifier was working. Equipped with pollution monitoring capabilities, the Coway Airmega 400 is designed to provide you with solid, real-time knowledge about your space’s air quality.
- Air Quality Indicator: Located on the front of the unit, it’s constantly monitoring your air and providing instant feedback about your air quality.
- Color Indicator: Quickly know your indoor air quality by looking at the color of the indicator light. It will change to 1 of 4 colors to indicate current conditions. Levels are Good (Blue), Moderate (Purple), Unhealthy (Pink), and Very Unhealthy (Red).
Dual-Sided HEPA Filtration
Two-stage filtration ensures that not only are the large, easy-to-see pet hair and dust that can wreak havoc on allergies removed, but nearly invisible asthma and allergy triggers are too. Working together, this multi-stage filtration allows the Coway Airmega 400 to eliminate 99.97 percent of airborne allergens and particles down to 0.01 microns.
- Pre-Filter: Traps larger particles like dust, pet hair, and other debris, allowing the Max2 filter to eliminate smaller, hard-to-see allergens.
- Combined HEPA Filtration: The Green True HEPA Filter eliminates dust and allergens, and is combined with an Activated Carbon Filter for odor elimination.
- Filters on Both Sides: Filters are located on each side of the body to provide optimal cleaning performance.
- Filter Life Notifications: Two filter indicator buttons are located on top of the unit, the Max2 and Pre-Wash indicators. Remaining filter life is displayed at 5 lit sections on the indicator (100, 80, 60, 40, and 20 percent). When all lights around the button go out and the letters on the button light up, the filters are at 0 percent and need to be replaced.
Automatic Operation
Setting itself apart from other air purifiers, the Airmega 400 air purifier features the ultimate in hands-off convenience. When engaged via the touch sensor control panel on the unit, Smart Mode will provide users with several features.
- Automatic Fan Speed: Based on its determination of your current indoor air quality, the air purifier will automatically adjust to the correct fan speed for conditions.
- Sleep Mode: The unit will automatically reduce power and noise when the onboard light sensor notices that the room is dark and that air quality has remained good for 3 minutes.
- Eco Mode: When air quality remains at a good level for more than 10 minutes, the fan will automatically shut off to conserve energy. If the air quality begins to decrease, the unit will restart automatically.

- Lightweight Design: This lightweight air purifier was manufactured to blend into any space. Instead of being a bulky, mechanical-looking machine, Airmega by Coway created a smaller, modern addition to your room.
- Two Fan Speeds: Two fans ensure that while the noise level remains low, performance stays consistently high. Large air outlets further limit the amount of noise caused by air exiting the cleaner.
- Touch Control Panel: There are no dials or manual controls. All functions can be handled via the onboard electronic touch control panel.
- Timer: Using the button located on the control panel, the timer can be set so that the purifier turns off after an hour, 4 hours, or 8 hours.

We got this about two months or so ago. Since then, no smell lasts more than an hour or so in the house. There were times that smell of an air fried fish would last for hours in the house. My wife is pregnant and in the first trimester she had super-human sense of smelling, and any smell could trigger nausea. At some point, I was afraid honestly to cook anything! I had to cook it while she was out and hope once she is back there is no smell left but opening all doors and windows, but most of the time, that was not enough! Until we got this badass 400 HEPA! It works like a charm when it works! It does a decant job clearing the smell, but takes a while and is not instant as it can't suck the entire air in the apartment at once! I recently cleaned the outer filter, just used our vacuum and that was more than enough. I think the filters need to be cleaned about 6 weeks or so. It was a 10 min job! The reason I took one star away is because it sometimes fall into deep sleep and I have to go and manually push the sensor to start working. It seems while it is in sleep, the sensors may not be constantly sensing and they sense every once in a while, (I don't know the frequency). This could be due to efficiency or reducing noise as the unit would operate less and would be more electricity efficient and less noise pollutant.
