Description
Description
To get rid of bed bugs, you have to reach every life stage, including the ones you can't see. The Dr Infrared Heater Portable Bedbug Heater uses heat alone, so you never spray chemicals on the things you treat. Load items onto the steel rack, zip the tent closed, and let the fan-forced heater do the work. The insulated chamber holds that heat around your items so the treatment stays contained.
When you finish, the tent collapses for storage. The heater doesn't have to take up floor space between treatments.
Key Features and Benefits of the Dr Infrared Heater Portable Bedbug Heater
- Fast Heat-Up: Reaches 120 to 155 degrees Fahrenheit from room temperature in a few minutes, so you can start a treatment cycle without a long wait.
- Spacious Chamber: The 38 x 38 x 26 inches (L x W x H), 18-cubic-foot treatment area gives you room to heat several items in a single session.
- 2-Tier Rack: A steel rack with two shelves spreads your items out so heat reaches each one evenly, without hot or cool spots.
- Turbo Fan: A multi-blade turbo fan spins at 2,600 RPM to move heat through the chamber quietly, so it won't disrupt your home.
- Thermometer and Timer: The included thermometer and programmable timer with alarm let you confirm that the chamber temperature reaches at least 120 degrees F and notify you when the 1-2 hour cycle ends.
- Powerful Heater: The fan-forced heater puts out 5,200 BTUs, reaching 120 degrees F in minutes to eliminate bed bugs from the egg to adult stage.
- Electrical Power: The 1,500-watt heater draws up to 12.5 amps, so ensure the 110-120V outlet is grounded and the circuit is not overloaded.
- Nylon Tent: Heavy-duty nylon and industrial-grade zippers stand up to repeated heat treatments, giving you years of reliable use.
- Portable Build: At 24 pounds, the heater and collapsed tent are easy for you to carry between rooms or put away in a closet after treatment is done.
Treat Bed Bugs At All Stages
Because bed bugs can hide and survive for up to 18 months without feeding, heat treat and seal all potentially infested belongings to eliminate all stages of bed bugs, including the more difficult-to-spot egg stage.
Work in batches, spreading your items across the two shelves inside the 18-cubic-foot treatment tent rather than packing them tight, because the fan needs open paths to carry heat evenly to each tier. Before you start the cycle timer, check the thermometer to make sure the chamber has reached and can maintain the target temperature of at least 120 degrees F. A denser load can take longer to warm, so base treatment time on the temperature reading rather than the clock alone.
Sylvane's Expert Take
If you're fighting bed bugs and don't want chemicals on your belongings, this heater lets you treat them at home inside a closed chamber. It works best when you run steady, loosely packed batches and watch the thermometer, because holding a steady temperature of at least 120 degrees F is what works across every life stage. Day to day, the two-tier rack and timer alarm are the features you'll rely on most to ensure even heat treatment for the right amount of time. If you want a reusable heat treatment that folds away when you're done, the DR-122 is worth a spot in your closet.
