Large open spaces lose heat quickly, and one frozen pipe in a fire room vault can shut down a whole system. The King Electric KB PlatinumX Single Phase 208V Unit Heater line mounts on a wall or ceiling and works as a primary or supplemental heat source for high-rise buildings and water treatment sites. Each model runs at a different wattage, so you can match heat output to the size of your space.

Control is where the KB PlatinumX stands apart from basic on/off heaters. You set the temperature on the built-in electronic thermostat or from across the room with the included remote, which comes with its own wall holder. As the seasons change, you can switch to timer mode or summer fan-only mode.

Key Features and Benefits of the King Electric KB PlatinumX Single Phase 208V Unit Heater

  • Steel Fin Elements: A high-mass, spiral-finned steel heat exchanger and high airflow spread heat evenly and keep the elements from overheating, so your heater lasts longer.
  • Smart Limit Protection: King's patented Smart Limit Protection provides automatic overheat protection, guarding the heater's components during long heating cycles.
  • Direct Power: A single-phase 208-volt hardwired connection gives you a permanent installation with no cord running across your floor.
  • Universal Bracket: The included universal wall/ceiling bracket lets you mount on either surface, and a quick-access bottom panel makes routine maintenance simple.
  • Uniform Height: Every wattage option stands 16.5 inches tall, so you can plan mounting clearance the same way whichever model you choose.
  • Fan Delay: A built-in fan delay keeps the fan running after the elements shut off, clearing leftover heat from the heater.
  • Auto Memory: The auto memory feature restores your settings after a power outage, so a remote vault stays protected without a manual restart.
  • UL Certified: UL certification confirms the heater meets recognized electrical safety standards.
  • Sealed Motor Bearings: A permanently lubricated bearing motor and dynamically balanced fan blade support years of trouble-free service with no oiling required.
  • Warranty Coverage: King Electric backs the heater with a 5-year warranty, and each model is made in the USA from US and global materials.

Choose Your Wattage

The KB PlatinumX comes in 5,000-watt, 7,500-watt, 10,000-watt, and 15,000-watt models, and heat output rises at each step.

  • 5,000-Watt Model: The entry model produces 17,000 BTU with 600 CFM of airflow and draws 24 amps, which keeps circuit demands modest. It measures 11 x 15 x 16.5-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 30.5 pounds.
  • 7,500-Watt Model: Compared with the 5,000-watt model, this model raises output to 25,600 BTU and airflow to 725 CFM to cover larger rooms. It draws 36.1 amps, so confirm your circuit can carry the load. It measures 13.5 x 18 x 16.5-Inches (L x W x H), and at 45 pounds it needs a secure mount.
  • 10,000-Watt Model: Moving up another step, this model reaches 34,100 BTU and pushes 1,100 CFM to carry heat across open warehouse floors. It draws 48 amps and weighs 50 pounds, so plan a secure mount and a circuit sized for the load.
  • 15,000-Watt Model: The top tier pairs 15,000 watts with 51,200 BTU, the most heat in the line, so it suits the largest open areas you need to keep warm.

Note: Amperage climbs with each wattage step, so confirm that your 208-volt circuit is rated for the model you choose.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you manage a warehouse or water treatment facility on 208-volt single-phase power, the KB PlatinumX is worth a close look. It performs best mounted high in open areas, where the adjustable louvers can aim heat down at people or freeze-prone equipment. Choose your wattage based on space size and circuit capacity, since every model shares the same controls and protections. Timer mode and the remote let you heat only when the space is in use, which is how this heater earns its keep.
