The Ebac DD400 Desiccant Dehumidifier is the largest desiccant dehumidifier within the Ebac Industrial Products DD Series of desiccant dehumidifiers.

It incorporates a PTC Heater ensuring maximum drying is immediately reached and constantly maintained while the unit is running. In addition to the hours run meter, which shows the units running time, an ammeter is also incorporated in order to monitor the units drying effectiveness.

Rugged Design

The Ebac DD400 Desiccant Dehumidifier is made from a high-grade stainless steel, ensuring a rust free product when used in the most severe of applications. The spigot connectors allow quick and easy installation. All models incorporate a high efficiency patented PPS Rotor.

This design incorporates an 82% active Silica Gel to ensure optimum performance over the equipment's wide operating range of environments. All desiccant rotors supplied by Ebac are washable, and designed for high performance and long life.

Key Design Features

  • Stainless Steel Construction
  • Auto / Manual Mode Selection
  • Electronic Controls
  • High Capacity PTC Heater
  • Remote Humidistat Facility
  • Low-Temperature Operation
  • Ammeter
  • 220 volts

Common Applications

Dehumidifiers are required wherever there is a need to lower the humidity level to prevent corrosion, mold growth and condensation or maintain a low humidity condition during manufacture, packaging or storing of hygroscopic products. Desiccant dehumidifiers like the Ebac DD400 are the most effective type of dehumidifier in very low temperatures. Some of the most popular applications for this type of dehumidifier are:

  • Offices, Shops, Restaurants, Hospitals, Hotels
  • Warehouses, Basements, Factories, De-Flooding, Stadiums
  • Pharmaceutical, Defense Industry, Laboratories, Medical, Food Industry, Agriculture

Summary

Effectively sweep moisture out of large spaces with the Ebac DD400 Desiccant Dehumidifier. This unit is capable of removing up to 71.5-pints of moisture from large-scale areas and spaces, utilizing an 82% active Silica gel to ensure maximum performance.

What Customers Love

  • Electronic Controls: Easily operate the dehumidifier with the use of the electronic control panel.
  • Stainless Steel Construction: The stainless steel exterior casing is durable and built to last

Things to Consider

  • Square Footage & Application: This unit was designed for large-scale applications, such as hospitals, hotels, or stadiums.

How Desiccant Dehumidifiers Work

Desiccant dehumidifiers perform exceptionally well when used in cooler climates, or when a low dewpoint, deep drying or low humidity levels are required because they dehumidify through adsorption. Since desiccant dehumidifiers do not produce water, they will work effectively down to sub-zero temperatures. Their operation is simplistic yet extremely effective and reliable.

The DD400 is of the desiccant wheel type of dehumidifiers designed to dry air by passing a large volume of air, the “process” air through a slowly rotating Silica gel rotor. Silica gel is a hygroscopic material that absorbs moisture direct from the air. As the air passes through the rotor, the humidity of the air is reduced, while the moisture content of the rotor is increased.

A smaller volume of air, the reactivation air, is heated by an internal heater and passes through a portion of the rotor in the opposite direction. As this heated air passes through the rotor it will “reactivate” it by removing the moisture content from the silica gel material. The reactivation air will leave the humidifier as warm, moist air and must be vented to outside of the building. Continuous circulation of the room air through the dehumidifier unit gradually reduces the relative humidity in the room.
