Basements with damp, musty air are common because of seasonal water issues and lack of air exchange or ventilation. The Tjernlund X2D is an XCHANGER basement fan is an affordable way to ventilate your basement to keep humidity and other issues at bay.
Two fans are on each model and can be set to supply fresh air into your basement or exhaust musty air out of it. The fans each offer up to 90 CFM of for a total of 180 CFM of ventilation power.

Installation
Unlike many ventilation fans, you can install this model yourself easily through a 12.25 x 5.25 inch vent opening to the outside in your basement. The wall-mount controller is included, along with mounting materials, and then simply plug the controller into a standard 120-volt outlet.
How Tjernlund XCHANGER X2D Works
A control box connects to the two fans and easily attaches to your wall. Then you can set the direction of each fan to supply or exhaust. Both fans can be set to one direction (in or out) or opposite directions. Once you’re setup, choose a humidity level for your basement on the dehumidistat, and the ventilator will kick on when the humidity is higher than your set humidity. You can also turn the control knob all the way to the right for continuous operation.
Simultaneously bring in fresh air and exhaust musty air by reversing one of the exhaust fan’s operating direction. This form of operation tends to yield the best results for our customers.
If you need to duct fresh air to another room, you can add 6-inch ducts and drive air to another location or adjoining room.
