Ideal for use in hazardous conditions, it’s great for warehouses, factories, laboratories, and similar environments. With both window and in the wall installation options, this unit provides the ultimate in flexibility. Easy to operate, a rotary control dial lets you zero in on a maximum airflow of 375 cubic feet per minute (CFM).
Safe for Hazardous Areas
Outfitted with several safety features, the Friedrich SH15M30A was built specifically for use in hazardous areas like factories, laboratories, refineries, warehouses, and similar spaces up to 500 square feet.
- T4 Temperature Classification: Its maximum surface temperature of just 275 degrees Fahrenheit has earned it a T4 temperature classification, meaning it’s safe for use around flammable material.
- Protected Components: Hazardous materials can’t enter the unit since the fan motor and other main components are located inside of a sealed system.
- Wide Operating Range: This air conditioner can be used in extreme environments without freezing or overheating. It’s able to be operated in temperatures as low as 45 degrees and as high as 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

Creating a more comfortable space doesn’t get much easier than this Friedrich Hazardgard air conditioner. Turn the unit on or off by flipping the toggle power switch. Go from the lowest speed all the way to the high 24,000 BTU cooling performance by turning the temperature control rotary dial.
Window and Wall Installation
Offering the maximum in flexibility, this unit can be installed in windows or in the wall with the included installation materials.
- Window Installation: Fits windows with a minimum width of 27 7/8 inches to 42 inches.
- Through the Wall: When installed through the wall it’ll have finished dimensions of 18 3/16” (H) x 26 3/16” (W) x 6” (D).

This Friedrich Hazardgard 14,500 BTU window air conditioner features a split capacitor motor that allows it to power up without wasting energy. Its Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) is 9.7.
