Maintaining the most comfortable humidity level helps keep germs and bacteria away, especially with the help of a whole-house humidifier like the General Aire 1042-LH bypass evaporative humidifier. As warm air from your furnace flows into the humidifier, it meets a water-soaked vapor pad, which evaporates moisture deliver humidity throughout your home.
Note: This humidifier must be installed by a licensed contractor.
Manual Humidistat
Included with the General Aire evaporative humidifier is the MHX3C manual humidistat, featuring:
- Manual Controls: Simply turn the dial to your preferred humidity level.
- Design: A low-profile, contemporary design with solid construction.
- Flexible Installation: You can install the humidistat on your wall or directly on your duct with the General Aire humidifier.
- Humidity Range: This humidistat gives an extended humidity range from 10 to 75 percent.
Flow-Through Technology
The General Aire 1042-LH features the patented KineticFlo water distribution trough design to ensure the vapor pad is thoroughly and consistently moistened. As water flows through the trough, it is evenly dispersed across the pad, providing up to 19 gallons of humidified air daily. The Bypass Duct can be mounted to the left or right.

I’m happy Generalaire makes this same model as the humidifier that was installed in my furnace over 25 years ago. Installation was super easy because I was able to just remove the old one and put in the new one in the same spot. All the holes lined up exactly. I did have a little trouble understanding the wiring for the humidistat. The schematics didn’t make sense to me. Fortunately I was able to find a how-to video on You Tube. I’m very happy with my purchase.
