The Hanna Instruments GroLine Hydroponics Waterproof Tester line lets you dip a probe into your reservoir or soil sample and read the result, with temperature shown beside each reading. A pH tester and an EC/TDS tester each cover one reading, while the combined pocket model covers both.

The GroLine line comes in 3 measurement configurations, from a pH-only tester to a pocket meter that reads pH and EC/TDS together with temperature.
- pH: This tester has a cloth junction (salt bridge) that gives the electrode more contact surface for steadier readings, and it calibrates to buffers of pH 4.01, 7.01, and 10.01. It measures 0.7 x 1.6 x 6.3-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 0.16 pounds, and it works with the NC State University Pour Through soil sampling method.
- EC/TDS: This tester uses a graphite sensor that reduces the polarization common in 2-pin amperometric testers, so your conductivity readings stay more consistent. Its single-point automatic calibration detects either a 5.00 mS/cm standard in Quick Cal mode or 1.41 mS/cm in standard mode, which means calibration takes just one step.
- pH/EC/TDS/Temperature: This pocket meter calibrates pH and conductivity together in one Quick-Cal step, so one routine covers both readings. Its replaceable pH electrode has a junction that pulls out 1/8 inch to clear clogs. It measures 1 x 1.6 x 6.4-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 0.21 pounds.
