As is always the case, my recently purchased Austin HealthMate Plus filter is doing an excellent job cleaning the air in my home and keeping me healthy. I find that my Austin HealthMate Plus offers the best all around protection for the price. I purchased two Austin HealthMate Plus machines from the manufacturer in 2005. They have run almost constantly since their purchase. I had to send one of the machines back to Austin due to a mechanical problem a few years ago. The repair was handled smoothly, and the machine was shipped back to me free of charge. I notice that the filters have changed over the years. My first filters put out a very strong odor of activated charcoal. I frequently overcooked food because cooking odors were immediately taken out of the air and replaced with the smell of activated charcoal. The activated charcoal smell is toned down in the filter I just received. My home is maintained chemical-free, with ideal humidity, and the air quality controlled by my air purifiers and a high quality air exchanger that includes UV light purification. When people come over, they comment on how good it feels to be in my home. Yes, being in a healthy indoor environment does feel good!
