Info & Guides

Description

A blank wall above a media console and a newly framed accent wall can both take the Modern Flames Spectrum Slimline Linear Electric Fireplace. You can hang it on a wall surface with the included bracket or recess it fully into a standard 2x4 stud wall, and neither option needs venting. It comes in four widths, so you can size the flame to suit the wall.

The flame effect matters as much as the heat. Hybrid-FX lets you mix any of 12 flame colors with any of 12 ember bed colors. In warm months, you can turn the heater off and use flame-only mode for the glow alone.

Key Features and Benefits of the Modern Flames Spectrum Slimline Linear Electric Fireplace

  • Hybrid-FX Flames: Hybrid-FX flame technology gives you 12 flame colors and 12 ember bed colors with independent controls, with three flame speeds and five brightness levels so you can match the fire to your room ambiance.
  • Dual Heat Settings: A 750-watt low setting and a 1465-watt high setting produce up to 5,000 BTU, giving you supplemental warmth for rooms up to 450 square feet.
  • Built-In Thermostat: Set your preferred temperature between 68 and 88 degrees F, and the fireplace cycles its heater to hold that comfort level.
  • Sleep Timer: The programmable sleep timer runs for up to 8 hours, so the fireplace switches off on its own after you fall asleep.
  • Remote Control: You can use the electronic controls on the fireplace or the push-button remote (CR2025 battery included) to change flame and heat settings from your couch.
  • Mounting Hardware Included: A wall mount bracket and recess brackets come in the box, with side skirts, so you can surface-mount or recess the fireplace.
  • Plug-In or Hardwire: Plug the included 72-inch power cord into a 110-120-volt outlet, or hardwire it to a 15-amp breaker for a cord-free finish.
  • Media Sets: Clear acrylic ice crystals and a driftwood log set are both included, so the flame bed can look contemporary or rustic.
  • Safety Features: The fireplace carries cCSAus certification, and automatic overheat protection shuts the heater off if it gets too hot, so you can run it with confidence.

Choose Your Width

The Spectrum Slimline comes in four widths, so you can match the fireplace to the needs of your space.

  • 50 Inches: The SPS-50B weighs 60 pounds and measures 49.75 x 4.75 x 16.063-inches (L x W x H). It shows 46 inches of flame width and needs a 48.75 x 3.875 x 16-inch (L x W x H) rough opening to recess.
  • 60 Inches: The SPS-60B weighs 75 pounds and measures 59.75 x 4.75 x 16.063-inches (L x W x H). It shows 56 inches of flame width and needs a 58.75 x 3.875 x 16-inch (L x W x H) rough opening to recess.
  • 74 Inches: The SPS-74B weighs 95 pounds and measures 73.75 x 4.75 x 16.063-inches (L x W x H). It spans 70 inches of flame and needs a 73.875 x 4 x 16.25-inch (L x W x H) rough opening to recess.
  • 100 Inches: The SPS-100B weighs 135 pounds and measures 99.75 x 4.75 x 16.063-inches (L x W x H). It shows 96 inches of flame width for a long feature wall and needs a 98.75 x 3.875 x 16-inch (L x W x H) rough opening to recess.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you're finishing a living room or basement media wall and want a fireplace that works as a design feature, the Modern Flames Spectrum Slimline Linear Electric Fireplace line fits well. Every width heats the same space, about 450 square feet, so you can choose the model size by the needs of your space. The standout is independent flame and ember color control.
