Swapping out a tired furnace and central air conditioner doesn't have to mean redoing your ducts. The MRCOOL Hyper Heat Central Ducted Heat Pump Split System connects to new or existing ductwork, giving you the inverter efficiency of a mini-split with the whole-house reach of traditional HVAC.

The floor-mounted air handler measures 21.02 x 21.02 x 49.02-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 129.41 pounds, while the outdoor condenser measures 38.58 x 16.34 x 38.39-Inches (L x W x H) and weighs 204.15 pounds, so plan for floor space and service access around the air handler and condenser. A licensed HVAC professional must install the system.

  • Multi-Position Air Handler: The air handler installs in upflow or downflow orientation, or horizontally to the left or right, so it adapts to however your existing ductwork is laid out.

Choose Your Auxiliary Heat and Line Set Length

Choose auxiliary heat from None, 5 kW, 8 kW, 10 kW, 15 kW, or 20 kW, and pair it with a line set of No Line Set, 15 feet, 25 feet, 35 feet, or 50 feet.

  • No Auxiliary Heat: Heating comes entirely from the inverter heat pump, with no supplemental electric heater added.
  • 5 kW Auxiliary Heat: This electric resistance coil heater is the first step up from no backup heat.
  • 8 kW Auxiliary Heat: Stepping up from the 5 kW heater, this option adds an electric resistance coil for more backup heat.
  • 10 kW Auxiliary Heat: This electric resistance coil heater provides greater supplemental output than the 8 kW option.
  • 15 kW Auxiliary Heat: This electric resistance coil heater supplies more supplemental heat than the 10 kW option.
  • 20 kW Auxiliary Heat: This is the top option in the lineup, and it delivers the most electric resistance coil supplemental heat.

Line set length is a separate choice from heat. Choose No Line Set when your installer is supplying the refrigerant piping. The 15-foot and 25-foot options suit installs where the condenser sits close to the air handler, while 35-foot and 50-foot lengths reach longer runs. All four lengths from 15 to 50 feet use the No-Vac Quick Connect design, which works with the included installation kit to make professional installation easier.
