Description

Floodwater rarely stays where you can see it. It wicks into drywall and settles under sill plates, and it can sit inside wall cavities long after the surface looks dry. The Protimeter Flood Kit gives you the tools to find that hidden moisture: the HygroMaster L for air conditions and the SurveyMaster for materials, plus 2 dedicated probes for spots a standard meter can't reach.

This restoration kit works on residential and commercial jobs. The handheld devices use Amphenol sensors and have simple controls, so you can take readings quickly as you move from room to room.

Key Features and Benefits of the Protimeter Flood Kit

  • Pin Mode: The SurveyMaster reads 7.9 to 99 percent wood moisture equivalent (WME), so you can confirm actual moisture content before signing off on a dry-out.
  • Non-Invasive Mode: The radio-frequency mode reads from 70 to 999 on a relative scale, letting you map wet areas without putting holes in finished surfaces.
  • HygroMaster L: The HygroMaster L measures ambient humidity, temperature, dewpoint, and specific humidity, giving you the air data you need to judge whether drying conditions are working.
  • Extension Moisture Probe: Insulated probes read only at the tip, at 3- and 6-inch depths, so you can check inside wall cavities and crawl spaces accurately.
  • Baseboard Moisture Probe: Flat, insulated probes measure only at the tip, so you can read moisture at specific depths behind baseboard moldings and sill plates.
  • Amphenol Sensors: Sensor technology from Amphenol Advanced Sensors gives you fast, accurate readings you can trust when documenting a job.
  • Backlit LCD: The backlit display improves visibility in low-light conditions, so you can read values on dim job sites.
  • Logging and Alerts: Built-in data logging and alert functions help you record readings over the course of a job and spot problem levels quickly.
  • Operating Range: The meter works from 32 to 158 degrees F, so you can keep taking readings in cold, unheated structures or hot attics.
  • Compact Meter: The meter measures 7.5 x 2.75 x 1.9-Inches (L x W x H) and fits easily in one hand while you climb ladders or crawl under floors.
  • CE and ETL: The meter carries CE and ETL listings plus RoHS compliance, which matters if your contracts require certified test equipment.

Which Tool to Use at Each Stage of the Dry-Out

Start each visit with the HygroMaster L to record room conditions, because air readings tell you whether your drying setup is pulling moisture out of the structure. Then switch the SurveyMaster to non-invasive mode and sweep walls and floors. A high relative reading marks the boundary of the wet area without any damage to the finish.

Where a scan shows moisture, use the pins to get a WME number you can log. The meter is rated for hardwood and softwood as well as drywall and concrete. If readings stay high near the floor line, the baseboard probe and the 3- or 6-inch extension probe tell you whether the water is trapped behind trim or deeper inside the cavity.

Sylvane's Expert Take

If you run water damage restoration jobs or inspect flooded homes and commercial spaces, this kit covers both air monitoring and material testing. Its strength is speed on site, since one meter handles both pin and non-invasive readings. The most useful detail is that both probes read only at their insulated tips, so a wet surface won't throw off a cavity reading. This kit helps you find hidden water and show that a structure is dry.
