Description
The most impressive heater in Vornado’s family of steel heaters, the 11.7-inch high freestanding Vornado VMH600i Stainless Steel Heater is unlike any other room heater. A smooth modern design and compact stainless steel construction make it perfect for whole-room heating in small bedrooms, offices, and other areas between 75 - 150 square feet.
Set your ideal room temperature on the LED display or remote control, and use the innovative Energy Sync feature to conserve energy while you add 5,118 BTUs of warmth to your home. The Vornado Stainless Steel Heater is also built with the highest-grade parts and offers a fan-only mode for year-round comfort.
Energy Sync Feature
Press the light bulb button on the display to see how much or little energy your heater is using to maintain your set temperature. It uses a color scale to show you the energy level, allowing you to view and adjust your settings as needed. For example, purple is extremely low wattage, while dark orange is the highest wattage.
This feature allows you to know how much energy you’re using and reduces it if it’s too much for your liking--something you find in other space heaters on the market.
Other Programmable Features
The top-of-unit digital display and control allows for easy setting changes, but a large, front-facing second LED display clearly shows your set temperature from across the room. Other programmable settings for simple customization:
- Digital Thermostat: Use the +/- buttons to set your exact room temperature.
- Two Heat Settings: High heat (1,500 watts) is perfect for larger rooms or extra-cool days, while low heat (750 watts) is great for efficient heating.
- 12-Hour Auto-Off Timer: Conserve energy and ensure it’s only running when needed by setting it to turn off up to 12 hours in advance.
Whole-Room Heating
Vornado is known for including impressive technology not found in other heaters. They use vortex technology and a powerful fan to quickly circulate air around your entire room. This helps Vornado earn its reputation as whole-room heaters.
The 9.8-pound floor floor also uses automatic climate control to regulate the heater’s thermostat easier than other models (that cycle on and off). It uses the amount of energy needed to maintain your room temperature in a consistent, uniform way.

We use the heater to provide additional warmth in the family room which is furthest from the furnace, has lots of windows and is quite cold as weather drops towards zero. The heater has nice safety features and is easy to use. It has not heated the area quite as much as hoped but maybe that is because the room is about 215 sq feet and is a bit larger than it is supposed to heat.

Quiet. Cool externally. Powerful. Thermostatically controlled. Remote control. Best heater on the market. Gave one to son, for his basement. We got one for porch then. Then gave him another for his bedroom. Then one for our basement. Then another for other son! So yea we are fans. Do read the manual though!!
