Description
The Whirlpool 8,000 BTU Inverter Window Air Conditioner provides cooling relief all summer for rooms and spaces up to 350 square feet. Designed with inverter technology, this Energy Star rated window AC operates efficiently by controlling the motor speed to the precise power needed to keep the room at the desired temperature. Other energy-saving features include:
- Eco Mode: In this mode, the compressor operates intermittently as needed to maintain the set temperature.
- Sleep Mode: In sleep mode, the air conditioner reduces the fan speed and gradually increases the set point to adjust for lower nighttime temperatures.
- 24-Hour Timer: You can program the timer to either shut the AC unit on or off so that it won’t run when it isn’t needed.
Adjustable Operation
This efficient window AC unit features three fan speeds so you can set the airflow to your preferred level. To further distribute airflow throughout the space, you can press the swing button to activate the automatic swing function of the interior louvers. Additional operating modes include:
- Dry Mode: This function helps to reduce the moisture in the air on high-humidity days.
- Cool Mode: Used most often, this mode cools the room and alleviates some humidity in your space.
- Fan Only Mode: Use this mode, along with fan speed adjustment, to circulate air through the room on days when cooling isn’t needed.
Easy to Install
A complete installation kit is included with this Whirlpool Window AC for fast, easy installation. This kit includes adhesive, hardware, brackets, seals, gaskets, and plasticine. It accommodates windows 25 to 36 inches wide with a height opening of at least 14.5 inches.

- On-board Thermostat: Set the desired temperature between 61 degrees and 88 degrees F.
- Remote Control: The Whirlpool WHAW-081IN includes a handy full-function remote control.
- Eco-Friendly Refrigerant: This unit uses environmentally friendly R32 refrigerant.
- Auto Fan: This function automatically adjusts the fan speed to correspond to the cooling and airflow requirements based on the setting.
- Mute: Pressing this button will change the fan speed to mute speed, lowering the sound level to 42 dB.
- Auto Restart: In case of a power outage, the Whirlpool window air conditioner will restart automatically when power is restored, saving the settings.
- Air Filter: Conveniently located behind the front intake grille of the unit, this captures particles for cleaner air. A Clean Filter reminder will light on the control plan, and it can be cleaned by vacuuming, or washing in mild dish soap and warm water.
